Welcome to Meghan Grace DIY! I have been sewing since I was 8 years old and have done lots of great things in the sewing world from making figure skating costumes to teaching high school fashion to freelance costume design to college fashion professor. This video is a tutorial on how to make an awesome vintage style gathered pin up apron. This is a super fun project for yourself in the kitchen, for a costume or for gifts for friends! Ive included ideas like using the apron in a costume or for a pinup shoot or for vintage styling in the kitchen. Before we get started I think it is important to note that there are many different styles and techniques in the sewing world, so take with you what works and leave behind what doesn’t! 2/3 yd and 1/3 yd different fabrics or 1 yd of one fabric

Nice. An easy 7th grade Home Ec. project from the 1950s. Using only tulle and grosgrain ribbon, they could be turned into fancy bouffant cocktail aprons with no pockets or hemming required. Those made great gifts.

Small correction: You made a double-fold hem, not a rolled hem. A rolled hem is an extremely narrow hem used to finish fine, sheer fabrics. It has a different technique which is usually made either by hand, or with a special foot that literally rolls the fabric down into this tight, tiny hem. A double-fold hem is a great sort of hem, useful for most applications, and yours was perfectly fine. It just made me sad to hear you use the wrong term, when it actually means something different.
