Torsion box shelves, what a great idea, this turned out fantastic I am sure your sister will be well pleased, does she watch the video’s, if she does I bet she can’t believe how much effort you put into your projects, you still make things look far to easy for the rest of us numpty’s who will try and copy your projects in the future 👌👌👍👍👍

Thanks Graham. My sister does watch some of the videos that I make, and she was blown away by the amount of work I put into her baby cot (she was just expecting some sticks slapped together, but I said I'll do a little better than that!). I think this build was a pretty simple build. It covers a few principles, but it's a good project just to practice getting things right (such as having dowel or bolt holes line up properly).

I continue to really enjoy your attention to detail. Don't see much of that on KZbin. Thanks,

Thanks mate. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well.

Thanks Kuffy, my sister saw this video and now I have to make one. As if I didn't have enough to do. Great job as always, mate.

Thanks mate. It is a pretty simple build without requiring a great deal of hand sanding detailed profiles

Looks great even without the finish! Nice build

Thanks mate. I like it in its raw state too, but I think it will match more decor styles when painted white

Hey Bernard, thanks mate. It was a good day out at Bendigo, I'll certainly be heading back there next year.

Your channel recommended by Gary Padger over in Bisbane. This is a nice piece and you made it simple enough yet sturdy. Hope your sister likes it! Really wish I had the room for a panel saw. I live in Northeast US and look forward to watching..

Hi Rich, thanks for tuning in. Any house moves in the future will always have to answer the question "will the garage fit my panel saw?", if the answer is no, i'll have to keep looking for a different property 😂

Extremely well built! Lucky sister! Maybe she won't bother to paint it white...looks fine as is, just needs some clear, water based poly. P.S. I found you via Mark Dainer's channel.

Thanks Juliet. I quite like it as raw pine and MDF too. Mark is a great bloke always helping others out 👍

Looks great Kuffy, thanks for sharing a really well made and different take on a common modern furniture item. Wondering if you had any thoughts on your router table fence now you've used it for some time. Would you do anything different next time? Do you miss not having a t track for feather boards or split faces on it?
@kuffyswoodwork4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rob. I really like my router fence. I have been thinking about adding a method to hold it in position rather than using clamps. I don't really need split fences for the work I do, but if I needed one I could knock one up from a scrap of MDF in about a minute. All in all, it's been really good and is still dead straight. I very much prefer dead straight over split faces any day.

Nice build mate. Seems this “ladder” style furniture is catching on 🤣
@kuffyswoodwork4 жыл бұрын
Lol yep. There is ladder style everything nowadays 😂

I think you should paint it yourself cos I can tell by how vocifourisoully (edit: vociferously) you mention several times not having to paint it that you really want to do it yourself. Besides who wants to create something that isn't finished? Torsion box shelves sounds shweet . Bloody nice mate.

I learnt a new word today, but I still can't pronounce it, lol. I hate finishing more than I hate sanding. My sister can paint it, and if she is any good at it I might get her to paint more stuff in the future :D

@@kuffyswoodwork omg, can't believe I butchered that spelling so badly. Good on you for deasyphferining what I was trying to say 😁

G’day Kuffy, I received a text from your Tablesaw before annoyed because of the inferior stock you feed through it, can you console it 😬🧐🤞, this is a brilliant item & will probably hold up 3000 books lol but I also received a phone call from NASA asking if you were available?. Apart from that mate you nailed it “metaphorically speaking “ & Grouse screen in screen opening 🎥🎥🎥🎥🔨🔨🔨🔨👍👍👍👍🇦🇺
@kuffyswoodwork4 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. The saw actually began playing up during this build. Everytime I ripped pine to width, the shavings wrapped around the blade slightly, greatly unbalancing the blade and causing a hell of a noisy racket.
@TakamiWoodshop4 жыл бұрын
lol. But yeah, the split/sub screen editing is pretty nice - I thought so too.

Ladders are the flavour of the month it seems! Too many woodworkers wanting to get high... 😳🤣 Until it levitates it is not over engineered. 😁

Hehe, I did consider jumping on the band wagon and making a tensegrity table.

I'm disappointed Kuffy. How can you say it's a waste of your time?? It will end up as an Heirloom piece and still be around when you are old and Gray. Well built and looks good. BUT.. I prefer Victors Ladder. Much more to my taste if you know what I mean 😂
@kuffyswoodwork4 жыл бұрын
I only say it is a waste of time to over engineer the shelf construction for this purpose. Melamine would have been good enough for a few years. I suspect these shelves may become more to your liking when my niece gets older and needs somewhere to store her bottles of grog 🍾🍷🍺
