I don’t usually comment on videos, but this video explains why the company I used to work for laid off 90% of their work force. They put all their eggs into 1 basket with celebrity influencer branding and the audience got sick of watching people they are fans of selling out.

Another example of what you said above is the recent move that Bud lite did. They chose a male trans person who is turning female, who had 10 million followers most of them under 18, gay, trans and men turning into women and women turning into men when they should have been targeting a male audience.

Community is powerful because it's not about paying attention only to the community leader but everyone in the community paying attention to each other. I've had an online community for 25 years, and that's my experience.

Chalene is 100% correct. I was at a conference this is going back in the early 2000's. The speaker said this if you have say 100 clients, instead of spending all kinds of time and marketing dollars, why not try going back to your original 100 clients, focus there and ask for referrals. If you are doing a good job with these people, they will refer if they know you are looking for new business and can help. Happens all the time. Having 100's of thousands of followers is not the norm. only a few and that where you are striving to be, will be at the top

Probably the most interesting and informative coverage of how to make a successful business on KZbin. The thing a I understand is don't treat it as a job and treat it as a community for like minded individuals to interact with each other. So don't worry about your views, stop asking people to like and subscribed if they truly enjoyed your content they will do it naturally and hey might even leave a comment. I did like and subscribed just because your guest made so much sense and being able to choose guest like her makes me excited about viewing your other videos.

The keyword for me was indeed 'community', my channel is about a relative specific niche, not mainstream. I have multiple subs who actually interact with me in every single video I upload. I cherish them, but even more, I reply to every-single-comment on my videos. They are the reason my channel is still growing, despite me still figuring out what's the best attractive way to make a thumbnail, title, video transitions etc. ❤
@eyeswideopenpod
@eyeswideopenpod Жыл бұрын
Exactly! I yelled 'Yes'! When they said that. Community is always the key. You can't grow without fans. Good for you for replying to every comment! When we do headlines we each write 10 headlines and then we choose the best ones (but we search on YT what people are searching for about the topic we're discussing to get ideas for those 10 headlines). My partner used to work with Evan Carmichael and they did a lot of split testing for thumbnails. I suggest looking at the videos that do the best and seeing what their thumbnails have in common (color, font, photos, faces, etc). And test it out. Also putting text on your thumbnails seem to do really well for many creators. I had a look at your channel it is super niched and that's awesome Wishing you tons of success!

What people want to see is documentary style content because people want a friend from afar. Honestly, Hamza is probably the only content creator I've seen touching base on this even more than GaryVee. You have to start thinking in terms making content that shows people a skill they can learn while you're learning along the way. How many times do you see people who suddenly are fit and think, "Well wait how'd you GET here?" Rarely. People just show up successful which means there was LOADS of content that could've showed the journey.

Funny I just came from watching a Hamza video to here reading your comment about him on another video... He's very charismatic and is different to other black especially egocentric and annoying african american influencers who all walk and talk the same 💩 with their cringe worthy 'ebonic's!(dope, fire, simp, boogy etc...🤦🏾‍♂️) Hamza does use Dark psychological tricks but he's refreshing and is a hit with Girl's especially Blonde's 👱🏻‍♀️👱🏻‍♀️👩🏼

I started reselling undervalued Shopify stores(2 years now) and making multiple 6 figures. Ive accumulated an email list of about 1,400 contacts and i never cared about community or marketing to it. I was actually closed minded. 3 weeks after sending a weekly newsletter i made $84,000 in 24hrs when i sold two Shopify stores to one of my subscribers. The biggest thing is be your customers friend. Provide real value and build deeper connections. I made another $10,000 by selling 1 consultation. Thats $94,000 in 2 months after starting to use your email list, which is your subscriber audience. This video is so so poweful and so true. This stuff works and im embarassed to say i looked down on building your list and community etc.

Loving the advice here. I've always been content with having a small channel and smaller, more loyal audience. There are too many "spokes people/influencers" out there. People don't have time for that. They want details and an honest suggestion of how their time and money should be spent.

Thanks for your contribution, Chalene! A lot of good points you made. But while we may be facing an economic recession, the social media landscape is experiencing an inflationary period characterized by a surplus of content, attention-seeking behavior, and the democratization of content creation. The increased consumption of inflated content supports the argument that we are not in a social media recession, but rather in a state of social media inflation.

Content content content.... new, new, new.... makes us sound like information devouring monsters/demons. Tossing aside anything "seen that, done that".... like a lifeless rag smashing against the wall. Keeping the masses constantly focused on OUTSIDE of themselves (and avoiding doing inner work or simply sitting in "silence"... which might cause most a mental breakdown at this point).... and money, of course... of which we have put it's importance higher than oxygen. Profits over people! Profit over your own self and sanity. It's gotta be draining constantly chasing the next new idea for more and more and more content. I'm drained and tired just thinking about it. Why does it seem like we are never **content** with life. Always chasing the dollars and the "next big trend". Its getting so old and sad to witness. How about focusing on small, local, community based networks? We need more of those! It's great connecting with those in far away countries.... but we always neglect those closest to us.... for what seems... money and fame.

Enjoyed this although it gets you excited then crushes you, then gives you hope, then destroys you. This works, but not good anymore. Value is a must but does not work anymore. Community is great but you cant get someone to engage. We get it, this is tough but then you see someone make it. We want it to be super simple, but it is not. In the end, we want to learn something we can do consistently that is fun and works.

5:54 STRONG disagree here. The demand is actually so high that it will never be met. People constantly want more and more content from all niches and that is why there will always be room for more creators to grow. The way she phrased that makes it sound like there are far more content creators than consumers and that is completely wrong statistically. Also disagree with the idea of value being a dead trend and needing to be captivating along with the value -- just not true at all.

Just not sure how to price myself as a micro influencer. The sponsorship I did was a custom product I wanted and they gave me a discount code for my fan base and also a giveaway. It was fun, but didnt make me any money. I'd like to change that in 2023. Cycleworld, Bike care products, restaurants maybe, IDK. Im on Sway, but most of those accounts want 50k+ followers.

The email list monetization is interesting….comes at a time where I am deleting email accounts, unsubscribing, and auto deleting email. These deleted emails are to my family members:) If you are an influencer or even a company that I am engaged with, please send me less email. Thanks.

If I do take videos I've uploaded and have a Fiverr person improve it, would i post it as a new video post? Or would it be uploaded as a revised post?

In one sentence you talk about security, well done, in another sentence you mention uploading to TikTok which one of the biggest security threats today. On a side note, the Barefoot Investor warned us about it a couple of years back. On another side note, I enjoyed this video even if stumbled on.
