HOW TO Make A MEDIEVAL Purse || I Made A Belt Pouch Based on a Grave Find!

This drawstring purse, or pouch, is found throughout 14th and 15th century artwork. We even have extant purses from the period! The purse is amazing. Coincidentally I just finished reading a murder mystery series by Tania Bayard who is also an Art Historian specializing in Medieval Art. The main character is a widowed scribe to the French court in the 1390's. A friend of the scribe does embroidery for purses and belts made for Charles VI's wife Queen Isabeau. This is very timely! The best part is that strawberries were not around during the medieval times. They were first grown in ca. XVIII century.

I've always seen references to them in the middle ages and earlier, so I was a little confused, but I think this is referring to the more modern type of gardening.

@@DaisyViktoria yes, I have probably expressed myself not clearly enough, I meant modern strawberries, wild strawberries (small ones, usually found in the forests, were around before 1750s) overall, great video :)
