Thank y'all so much for a video that actually explains what you did and how you did it. Also, the materials you used in the process. So many "how to" videos don't even tell you "how to" do it, even though their video had it in the title.

Very cool. Excellent clear cut instructions compared to other vids on the subject, and the re-cap of all needed materials/tools at the end is very helpful. I'm planning to do a resin pour project next year or later this year, and first watching lots of how-to vids to educate myself how it's done, since it's something I've never done before. Your vid is among the very best, if not the best, I've seen on the subject. Added to my DIY playlist, and will watch this again just prior to my epic experimental project! :)

This is AMAZING! I am about to start my first epoxy project and this was VERY helpful. Are there temperature parameters for the epoxy to cure properly? For example, right now my garage will be 38c during the day. Is that too hot for the epoxy to cure properly?
@EliChemResinsUKLtd
@EliChemResinsUKLtd 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Brande, at 38C the resin will cure a lot faster and cause exotherm release. Therefore you need to lower the mixed to 5 litres or less, or work at night when its cooler.

Hi there sir ! I was wondering, how do you calculate the quantity of coloring you use ? That is the only detail missing for that part imo. Thanks a lot ! that's great work you're doing. I appreciate the patience you have there.
@EliChemResinsUKLtd
@EliChemResinsUKLtd 3 жыл бұрын
Hi - we don't have a calculation for colour addition, it's very much done by eye, add a few drops, give it a stir and see if you want the colour stronger. start small as you can always add more but can't take it out

This is beautiful. Is there a maximum time you can leave between your first pour and your second pour?. And would Danish Oil be sufficient for the timber finish, of can something be applied over the Danish Oil to make it more glossier.?
@EliChemResinsUKLtd
@EliChemResinsUKLtd 3 жыл бұрын
We generally advise you leave between 2 & 4 days between pours. And you can just use Danish oil, it's entirely up to you on how you decide to treat the timber, that's down to personal preference.

Thank you for your video. Would you consider these resins for bust sculptures around these dimensions 35x40x55cm?
@EliChemResinsUKLtd
@EliChemResinsUKLtd 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your question. If you wanted to create a solid bust in resin then Deep Cast is the correct resin. You would need 77 litres of resin for this and would need to pour in at least 5 layers with 4 days in-between layers. Hope that helps :0)

This is fantastic! I’m curious: if I wanted get the wood to be a black matte finish , how would I do that while keeping the resin glossy and polished?
@EliChemResinsUKLtd
@EliChemResinsUKLtd 2 жыл бұрын
Hi - Perhaps a black wood stain would be your best bet? Build your river table and polish then resin, then add the stain, that's what i'd do I think

Thanks for the video. Do you sand the wood up to 3000 grit along with the resin or stop at 220 or 320? Thanks.
@EliChemResinsUKLtd
@EliChemResinsUKLtd 3 жыл бұрын
We take to wood to 300 otherwise it's to tight for the oil - the resin goes up to 3000 and then a liquid polish to finish.
