This very much helped me better solidify my plans to make a ring when the stuff I ordered gets here such as creating a color glowstone powder background as well as further crushing the opal. I don't have the income to buy the subscription box, but hopefully Patrick Adair Supplies will still be around in a few years when I finish college and have the degree for the income to purchase them. Same for P.A. designs for when I get married.

That is beautiful! Normally, I'm mostly into the calming deep blues and purples, but that red is gorgeous. Can this be done as a florescent version? Because if this can be made to look like magma glowing from under the Earth... Wow!

when i sand the crushed opal it has a very strange almost sweet smell..? do you get this too ?
@ewamanda4 жыл бұрын
When I cut Lapis lazuli, it smells sweet. I haven't sanded opal. I thought the Lapis Lazuli I had was maybe treated somehow but is it possible that it wasn't?
@DrDIYhax4 жыл бұрын
@@ewamanda is it like a really strong almost sweet smelling smell ? also if your lapis is lab grown it could be the slight amount of polymer mixed in with it same for the opal

New to this. How do you sand that down without scratching the cermic blank?
@PatrickAdairDesigns9 ай бұрын
Ceramic is usually pretty scratch resistant so as long as you don’t go to hard on it with your Dremel you should be okay but if you are really worried about it you can just put some tape over the edges and that should do a pretty good job. And just use lots and lots of water to keep it cool and you should be fine.

If you want you can search up Patrick adair supplies in the KZbin search bar and we have longer form tutorials over on thst channel that goes into that kinda stuff!
