A stunning film. I like the idea of cocktails more than the reality of drinking them, so this video is perfect for me!

To celebrate the re-imagining of Eltham Palace this year, we recreated three cocktails that were popular in the 1930s with a video guide to help you make your own at home. Chin Chin!

In America, I think the most common cocktails in the 1930s were the martinis and highball. Mostly because they were easy to make and can be made quick for a crowd in a party or bar.

in the 1930's people would've used jiggers or poured by eye directly from the bottle, the speedpourers like you see on those bottles were not invented until 1969

Store bought lemon juice he "squeezed earlier". Stop fooling your viewers please it starts to get annoying.
@claytonhartley
@claytonhartley 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Toni, I can assure you that I did squeeze fresh lemons for that. You can buy ready-squeezed fresh lemon juice but it is aimed at catering operations so comes in large quantities. (You can buy preserved lemon juice but in my opinion it tastes quite different from fresh juice.) It was much easier just to squeeze a few lemons into a jug before the shoot. I didn't think that viewers would want to wait while I messed around with a lemon juicer.
