This dressing is amazing! Initially, I thought this recipe was so different from my traditional recipe that I'd better experiment with it before serving it for a holiday; however --Thanksgiving was so different this year. I've typically hosted dinner for family, but with gatherings discouraged, this year due to CoVid19, we all chose to celebrate at our own homes and just deliver shared dishes ahead of our pre-agreed dinner time. I was in charge of turkey, gravy and dressing --I'm so glad I trusted Gina's cooking expertise and used this recipe! I made up a big batch and baked it in smaller foil baking pans for each family. We shared our dinners virtually --and this dressing was an immediate hit! Gina, you'll be getting a few new viewers because when family asked for the recipe, I just referred them to your channel! Thanks so much for the brightness you cast in our lives and the great recipes you share with us.. Hoping everyone had a great holiday!

Gina, have you tried making your own homemade cornbread for your dressing? Instead of jiffy. You can use self-rising flour, milk, eggs, tsp sugar, little vegetable oil, mix, bake, crumble up, add bread stuffing of your choice, chopped green onions, white onions. Celery, chopped cooked gizzard, cream of mushroom soup, poultry seasoning, garlic, onion powder, eggs, . Chicken broth if needed. I also use some meat from the turkey and the juice also. So the dressing will be kind of meaty. The same can apply if you use chicken.

OMG~ I've been looking for a good dressing recipe since my grandma passed away. I have asked everyone. When my coworker said he had the BEST recipe, I showed up to his desk, pen in hand just salivating...until he got to adding apples, rice and raisins. WHOA! Now, to each his own. But my family is originally from Louisiana and never have we had fruit in the dressing. THIS is what I believe my grandma used to make. It looks just like hers and I know she mixed cornbread and croutons (I was too busy eating to ever learn how to make it, growing up SMH). Thank you!! I will be trying this, this year!!!
@majr68525 жыл бұрын
Miss Michelle, I don't know about rice and raisins, but don't sleep on apples in dressing. I thought the same as you until a young lady I was interested in (yes, I'm a man who loves to cook) gave me a plate of Thanksgiving food she'd made. I almost cut her off right on the spot when I saw chunks of fruit in the stuffing (apples)... However, after I finally convinced myself to taste it, I wanted to get down on-bended-knee to propose. Long story longer, years later, even though we don't kick it anymore, I still use her base recipe (I've tweaked it a bit, now using Granny Smith apples, apple chicken sausage instead of just giblets, etc.) to make damn-good dressing loved/requested by family and friends alike. Moral of this long diatribe: WE (and you know who I mean) should free our minds and be open to trying new things...

@@wanda01141 I was SOOO disappointed because he'd bragged about it for a week. Goes to show what you think is great might not be what the next person thinks is great lol

Gina in addition when you said that you pull the meat of the turkey necks, and the way you cook that and the giblets the same way my sweet dear mother used to do it, you are truly a great cook, and when you are preparing I can hear the joy in your voice that you love to cook and lead to feed your family and most likely others it really puts a smile on my face Tina I cannot say it enough! Again thank you🙏🏾

Gina. I've been cooking for 63 years and I've always made the same dressing my momma made and I want you to. try this, instead of those three raw eggs, boil 6 or 8 eggs and cut them up in your dressing. Girlfriend, you will thank me for this idea. People who eat my dressing say it's the best they have ever eaten. Try it on your family.Dont forget sage.🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃 I'm 79 years.young. Just had a fall and broke my pelvis but girl I'm getting better now. Enjoy your videos.

Gina, I watched your dressing video. I think it is the best dressing to make. I can tell it’s good, by all the ingredients you put in it, and how you pulled it all together. I’m definitely going to make this for my husband. I know he’ll like it. I look for the best recipes. Ingredients play an important role in what I cook. Gina you’re the best. I look forward to watching your videos.

Gina, that looks delicious. I have used croutons and corn bread for years. My grandmother used egg bread and croutons. Jiffy so much easier. I have also used Stove Top. Thank you for doing this. Now more people know how to make great holiday Southern dressing. May God bless and enhance your traffic to KZbin.

Thank you, Gina for this recipe for dressing. I never heard of anyone putting smoked turkey in dressing, but if one can put sausage in dressing, then I can see smoked turkey cooked in it. Ny niece is frying our holiday bird, so I am going to season well and bake some chicken fryers to get the juices to place in my dressing and gravy. Have a wonderful holiday season, lovely lady. It warmed my ❤️ heart as you expressed the lovely relationship you have with your husband. Be Blessed ☺️🙏🏽😄
