I was teaching a friend of mime how to make tamales and she said wow it’s about as hard as making fufu and I asked her what it was and she told me it was a food she ate a lot when she was younger but her mom doesn’t make any more, hopefully I can learn from this and surprise her to make it together

Or use yam and plantain cook it until soft, blend and crush it in a strong food processor. Less stress on your arms.

Girl!!!!! Bless you and your culture. I just tried this along with your video and my wrist and finger are shot, I even had to stand on a stool. I was a fool to pour the whole box in. Being PR I had mine with bean stew, it was good and I know I'd like to have it again but 100% I'd go to a restaurant as there is alot of African restaurants in my community. Big upz!!!

Also give your friend money to buy the ingredients. African food is expensive. I always avoid making it to share because I can't deal with the requests when people are not aware of the cost. I don't mind the cooking

Doodycat Doodycat basically the first step she did by mixing it in a bowl with water. When all the lumps are not visible plop it into the microwave on high heat. It’ll cook and you can shape it

When I first tried fufu, I thought it was going to be like mashed potatoes, but in a dough form, it was totally different. You can’t chew it you have to swallow it. It’s very good though

I've tried making fufu, mostly from semolina, corn meal or corn flour, but once with plantain and cassava boiled and mashed...... NEVER turns out beautiful like this! 😭 I need more practice. My main question is how do you know when it's done and cooked through? I'm always worried if I over/undercooked it.
