How to Make Gaff Ramps the Quick and Easy Way

Hi John, sorry I missed the live stream. I currently also have a 3” Winthrop hook to put on an 80” MK3 blank for some extended reach for my personal use. Sometimes a fish gets sharked near the boat or decides to make one last ditch run never to return and I wish I could’ve had a little more reach. That’s a good point about leaving room for a stand or roller before the hook starts. It made me think of a pvc extension with a slot and screw to clamp onto the hook inline with the axis of the blank to possibly address that issue. I’m thinking para chord spiral wrap covered in heat shrink for some grip.

@@SteveFoster-i5d - use your alcohol burner and keep it far enough away so it doesn’t burn the threads, but gets rid of the fuzzies.
