I meant to say Utazi leaves, not Uziza leaves. Utazi are slightly bitter and will add some flavor to this dish. You can use both leaves if you prefer. Enjoy!!!❤️

We love this soup a lot in Edo state ... I think ur method of making it is too different from our own also the groundnut isn't supposed to be that smooth if u really want to enjoy it, don't blend it that much. ☺️❤️ Thanks a lot aunt Winnie

I and I believe some other South Easterners will not be able to enjoy the soup if the groundnut is not ground to a very smooth paste. It is all about preference and your food palette. We were raised to grind it very smooth and eat it that way. So your method and this method are all good equally.

I never knew groundnut soup can be cooked with tomatoe.I am from Edo state and we cook it differently. To have that brown look, we fry the groundnut really brown but not burnt and it gives it very very very yummy groundnut taste.Even if you cook a pot with just 1 fish or crayfish, it will be out of the world.

Peanut allergy should not be taken for granted though. Apart from skin breakouts, it can actually cause constriction of your airways and ultimately death. If you notice a negative reaction after eating peanuts, either avoid them or soak them for some hours before eating it.
