You should try the smoked herring Haitian spaghetti next time lol traditionally it's made with smoked herring because it was cheaper to buy, the hot dog came after, the OMG you're doing such a great job, I can't keep my eyes off this video, I actually saved it and shared it so thank you for doing my country proud

You learn well mama. Just a touch of advice. We fry the spaghetti over the high fire. It will have a sort of brown color and some pieces will crisp up and stick to the pot. That is the best part. Bravo Gigi.

thank you very much for this recipe. i did it for my family today, it was flavourful. i could not get cilantro where i am in Jamaica, but i was able to get oregano. next time i think i will try chicken breast cut into small strips instead of hotdog. Thanks again.

I am Italian and normally I do not like chunky sauce, I do make my own and also I keep spaghetti on hand. But I must say I will have to try this recipe. When you reheat do you add water or more paste,

You were on the right path until you added water. We don’t add water. The spaghetti is normally dry, not wet. The only wetness you need is from the oil and the tomato paste breakdown in the oil.

I make Cajun spaghetti. From scratch. Our favorite is “weenie” spaghetti. It’s a lot like yours. My second favorite is with fresh green onion sausage. Yum.

@@ssimon100 No. There isn't different styles. Haitian food is being altered. Hell. I remember when they first introduced the use of hotdogs in it. Which in it self was foreign at that time. I can also remember when Ketchup was first introduced believe it or not which also was a foreign concept at that time. Haitian food isn't looking the way it was traditionally created. I give her an A for effort but this is not Haitian spaghetti.

In this case.. Epis means to add nearly everything else that's already in the recipe, blended with some parsley or cilantro. Don't get me wrong. I plan to make this, but I'm also being real.

I believe the original way to make Haitian is with herring but I don't like herring so mother would always make it plain or with shrimps & when she makes it my sister and I can't get enough of it. Good job doing it. I be trying to get it like & I can't . By the way u can put any type of meat u want I remember my aunt made it with deli turkey and it was delicious. Next time you u Haitian spaghetti , add parmesan cheese to it.
