YAY! Donuts! If you have allergies to egg or dairy, or if you are vegan, donuts were a thing of the past. I've tweaked America's Test Kitchen method for glazed yeast donuts using non-dairy and egg free ingredients and these donuts DO NOT disappoint! They are soft and chewy and taste exactly like your favorite donuts shop donuts. They're surprisingly easy to make and will impress your friends - vegan and non-vegan alike!
To make these yummy donuts, here's the recipe:
675 grams all-purpose flour (4 1/2 Cups)
100 grams sugar (1/2 cup)
1 tsp active dry yeast
350 ml (1 1/2 cups plant-based milk)
45 grams flax egg gel (3 Tbsp) *recipe below
1 1/2 tsp salt
113 grams plant-based butter (8 Tbsp or 1 stick), softened and cut into small pieces
