I wonder if back in the day, how many people understood that the chopsticks were a joke. No crowd laugh at all when he introduces them at all.

I want to say tomorrow, Happy Birthday to the funniest, who can chop up some stuff so fast, and making the audience feel so warm. Happy Birthday Martin Yan here’s to 73 years for amazing. If Yan Can Cook, so can you. 生日快樂!

As someone who cooks a lot of Indian food let me tell you this guy butchered that curry. Please go elsewhere for curry recipes. Would also like to add that not one of these comments says "tried this at home, was great"

That hot pot looked a little lacking. Ive had hot pot in 3 different provinces of China and every time the broth was flavored with chili oil. It was so complex and flavorful and spicy. This hot pot just looks like some cheap street cart ramen

You're talking about a show aimed at white Americans (just look at the audiences for this series they're like 90% white people) that was made in the 1980's. Just the ingredients like tofu, snow peas, rice wine, dashi and the shiitake mushrooms in the hot pot would have been exotic. Jacques Pepin's has something similar in his early shows he talks about how certain types of mushrooms were hard to find when he first came to America.
