Hey Paul i have a quick question. Would you recommend using more "standard Kicks" which dont have much rumble etc on it for working with your Kick Racks?
@audioreakt4 жыл бұрын
It really depend your kick, what you are looking for and which rack you are using. Its more like first choose a kick you like and then adjust in function of what you are looking for and not the other way around. If you kick has too much rumble just reduce the tail. When I am creating a track I have a kind of kind I want before to start and I know where I wanna go before, then once I pick up a kick, I process the kick if needed, use one of my rack (if I just want a rumble i use kick verb, if I am looking for more industrial groove I use industrial kick) and then adjust. But it change all the time because sometimes I want a big rumble, sometime I don't want rumble, sometime the kick is fat enough that it doesn't need rumble, sometime I want this top industrial loop with my kick, sometimes I don't want...

Nice Video as always but i think for a tutorial like that it would be much easier to follow when you recreate the session in a blank project. I dont mean that you should soundesign everything but maybe put the racks and effects 1 by 1 to the tracks. Maybe safe the effects you used on this project so u dont have to get them in the right position. With this way your audience can also recognize what every effect is doing to the sound. Just my opinion as a beginner! :)

I am not sure I understood all (Google translate) , but I got your point. I know he used hardware only for this ep, he post an Instagram picture of the gear he used for the EP. However I think there is still many possibility to achieve a same sound. But interesting things you took the time to write ! Danke !
@alfa156c4 жыл бұрын
@@audioreakt Thank You for the video - this is one way to make the Track . What I told is that (example) Audiorealism ADM 606 808 909 in 1 Machine (VSTi) . this machine have Mangle and Filter (lp Bp) (pre or post to Mangle) - you have PCF steps to aktivate the Filter on the Notes of the PATTERN , that is TECHNO , if You use mangle and Filter + PCF - Output have a AMP (clean or crunch or original 909 ) If you give the Machine with Mangle and BP Channel 1-2 (stereo but it is 2xmono) and routing that to Aux reverb , aux delay and a third Aux with a EFFECTRIX EFFEKT (VST or Hardware) - Voila aou having max Techno sound , if you something use of your PatternSkills . The Effekttrix Effect machine is to make new athmosphere to the original SIGNAL (modulation or more Tricks) for a Track you need a Drummachine , a Bass or you play the BASS with the 606 BASE or withe the 808Tom ; if you need a real Bass better as a 606 BASE , then it is that a Synthesizer more (channel 3-4) . You need a atmosphere , that is a synthesizer more (channel 5-6) , for a Melodie , you having 808 Toms , but a synthesizer more is Channel 7-8 . Plus 3-4AUX - No master , if pre master all okay . 4 Line Track . Softwaresetup or Hardwaresetup is the Same thing , in this setup .

This is the reason why techno is shit these days. Techno is about experimentation and not copying anyone's style.
@audioreakt4 жыл бұрын
Well I do explain how to achieve a kind of sound but I do as well give people alternative and different direction that they can take from that to make their own. When I am watching a tutorial I personally always try to appropriate it myself and pushing it further, experiment like you said, and I do think other people do that too. Saying that tutorials are the reason why techno is shit these days (which not my opinion at all btw) is a bit far-fetched.
@smashsystem4 жыл бұрын
@@audioreakt I don't want to offend you. Your tutorials are well made. But I see the danger that people will just follow a formula to ride the latest techno hype train and flood the already flooded techno ocean with even more generic crap rather than pushing boundaries. It' s well needed these days as techno has become so stale.
@audioreakt4 жыл бұрын
No worry I am not offended, I need a little bit more for that haha..No need for tutorial for people following trends, just look at the beatport chart... I think it always been like this, when you have one artist who really come out with a unique/new sound , everyone is copying it...But the things is on the end we will just remember the artist who really innovated with his sound rather than the artist copying , they will always be the "bad copy" of another artist...

@@audioreakt True. But just recently I've listened to some of my old Tapes from 1997 (4 years E-Werk Berlin for instance) and it reminded me how diverse the sets were back then. When I listen to some sets of Mr. Gimmick a. K. a SNTS it just bores the fuck out of me after 10 minutes. No funk, no groove, no concept... Just bang bang, overdriven percussion and a atonal pad in the background. Graveyard techno par excellence. No wonder all the Berghain kids wearing black and looking around depressed. But yeah, personal taste and all that...
