The company that gifted him a $2,195 freeze dryer even was kind enough to generate an affiliate link for viewer's purchases. But it's not a sponsored video or an ad, that would be ridiculous!
@andrasbak3 жыл бұрын
@@karyoplasma Well.. I'm guessing that the company never told him he had to talk about and just believed he would. Getting a gift is not being sponsered. Being given something in exchange for advertisement is.
@andrasbak3 жыл бұрын
@Cthulhu it has nothing to do with naivety. The only way I am wrong is if it's an undisclosed sponsorship which aren't that common anymore. People usually say if they were gifted the equipment they are using. Giving him the benefit of the doubt. I said that it isn't necessarily a sponsorship and brought up a very likely scenario. Edit: repeated myself

Eating/ drinking "pumpkin spice" anything is always a gamble for me. I love "pumpkin pie spice mix," which iirc is often cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice? Something like that. Love them separate, love them together. Can't stand pumpkin. So, I'm always torn. Did this "pumpkin spice" mean "pumpkin" as an adjective, to describe the spice blend used? Or is it using "pumpkin spice" as a compound adjective modifying the food in question, and has both pumpkin and the associated spices? Also I sooo want a freeze drier, but nothing I ever found is even remotely within my price range. 😥 Still fun to watch you though! And when I get around to unpacking my heat based food dehydrator, I def have to check if it'll be safe to put liquids in there.
@xanderthekid2 жыл бұрын
Pumpkin spice latte usually doesn't have actual pumpkin. Starbucks used to add food coloring to give it that orange color but when that story got big, they reformulated to include pumpkin. It's still mostly a color and texture, not so much a flavor. To that end, you could easily add some pumpkin spice (about 0.5-1 tsp per serving) to any latte and get something pretty great; dehydrator not necessary, but fresh espresso is.
@GavinBisesi2 жыл бұрын
"pumpkin spice" is originally "pumpkin pie spice", as in, just the spices and no pumpkin. Then people got mad at starbucks about how "their pumpkin spice doesn't even have pumpkin in it!". So Starbucks added pumpkin

I'm someone who doesn't like coffee. Every so often I'll order myself coffee to get used it but still don't really enjoy it. Not without drowning it in milk and sugar to the point it stopped tasting like coffee. The only coffee I enjoy was a "Mexican" blend brew from a Cafe in the middle of Wyoming. It had chocolate, cinnamon, cayenne and nutmeg. It tasted like something that actually complemented the taste of coffee rather than smother it. I've been chasing a drink that tasted like that ever since.

Fun fact - Ginger is a highlight of pumpkin spice but very pricey. In 2020-2022 StarX and major creamer companies were upping the cheaper cinnamon. If your oven can be on at a temperature that is lower than boiling... maybe 175°F or 80°C, then you can use the oven... Otherwise, it would be really difficult to dehydrate without burning.

There is something like canned pumpkin in the US?! On the one hand that kind of amazes me, on the other I'm wondering if there's something your food industry doesn't process into something that could survive an atomic war... Here in Germany if you want to make something with pumpkin (or Hokkaido, which is mostly used), you have to buy one, cut it and then process it yourself. Good old handywork. ;-)
