Dan i love your videos, so basic and down to earth, just great cooking and honest expressions of delight when tasting, the expressions so true as we would in a curry house, no put on showboating theatrics like the big names, credit and applause for the camera man too, I recently purchased your book to great satisfaction of its layout, story,explanations,short cuts, dish history, and was inspired to create a fully stocked spice,rice and pulse etc... pantry so i can recreate these beautys Stay true to your cooking methods and i'm sure you will go far if marketed right, LEGEND! simply can't wait to see you make another jaw dropping spine tingling ruby murray :-)

Done this at the weekend and it was enjoyed by those that had it. Quite amazed at how tender and tasty it was. Thanks for the recipe and video.

Great dish, I cooked it last weekend although I added some peppers and potatoes. Did you record any footage when you cooked with Atul Kochhar?, it would be interesting to see. Stay well. Cheers.

Thank you Ken. We didn't unfortunately. We got some photos. We're planning on doing a couple of videos together though. :-)

Do you think this would work in an electric pressure cooker Dan, maybe replacing 3 hour simmer with 1 hour in pressure cooker?

Definitely a good idea

I made this and I'm not sure if I got the quantities wrong on something but I found it very harsh tasting. I'd do it again, but be more careful with the spice mix to make sure I'm getting it right.
@DanToombs7 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy - Try each of the spices. You might find the one or two that you feel are overpowering the curry. Then just cut back on them. I wish I could be more help. It's a personal thing but experiment and you'll get there.

Dan Toombs thanks. I was following the recipe without enough tasting. I know most spices, I’m not sure what I did wrong this time. Your other recipes have been flawless....

Thanks Andy. I hope you try it again and that it works better. It is my favourite curry at the moment. :-)

Incorrect. Nihari Has always been a breakfast stew. The curry you have made is a purely mutton curry not nihari. However good effort. I would request you to study history of Indian cooking.

Quite honestly the worst nihari I have set eyes on...🤣
