120g gluten-free rice flour 3/4 tbs of sugar 480g water Food coloring (color of ur choice) Filling (optional (fe:ice cream, jam) Recipe: 1.Add the rice flour, sugar, water and foodcoloring in to a pan and mix until no bumps. 2.throughly stir on heat until good consistency. 3.add 1tbs of cornstarch and keep mixing for 1minute. 4.next take the pan off of the stove. 5.sprinkle small amount of corn starch on ur surface. 6.form the mochi with a filling of ur choice. 7.leave mochi in the freezer for 20mins. 8. Kaboosh idk if yummy but u got mochi i think

I just made them and they came out pretty good :))) Just keep in mind that the mochi will of course not have the same texture as sticky-rice mochi I recommend strawberry milk powder as food colouring so they become soft pink coloured Have a sweet day

I made something called fake mochi! 5 marshmallows Syrup (chocolate or strawberry) Teaspoon or 2 of honey Some water (an inch deep) Microwave until melted Mix and slowly add corn starch. When at a dough consistency, kneed Shape Enjoy!

The name is confusing a bit. All kinds of rice are gluten-free, even the one that originally used for mochi. It's called "glutinous" meaning that it's sticky, it's just different kind of rice, it doesn't contain gluten as well.

.......you do realize glutinous rice doesn't actually contain gluten, glutinous rice is just rice that has a glutinous texture,also glutenous rice flour has a finer grind then other types of rice flour. Though this recipe would be great for anyone who runs out of mochiko and needs a quick substitute.

All rice is gluten free, people just think that because glutenous rice flour has "glutenous" in the title that it contains gluten, glutenous in this case refers to the texture of the rice.

For people like me who use cups instead of grams, here's some *hopefully accurate* measurements I got off of Google 120g = 1 cup of Glutinous rice flour, Mochiko, or other rice flour you use to make mochi with. 480g = 2 cups of water. The math doesn't make much sense, but idrk Edit: You can use Bob's red mill sweet rice flour, if you can't find the Glutinous one.

The two rice flours have completely different texture. I wonder how it would even work in the first place.. it might look it but definitely won’t have the same chewy texture and you can even see it in the video

Texture in the video looks about right to me when she cooks it, it bounces right back up. I think you may need to add more cornstarch than the recipe calls for depending on your altitude. The longer you cook cornstarch, the more it impacts texture, and it depends how long it take for you to get to a boil. I would suggest adding more cornstarch, experiment with how much cornstarch you need to get your result.
