Great videos chaps. I'm a musician, who is starting from scratch again after my last band called it a day after 4 years of 3EP's and countless tours. But having people like yourselves painting the picture is such an informative way really helps you dust them cobwebs off and get back into it with a new game face and lease on the industry. Thanks for quenching the thirst I guess. Here's to 2016 for you guys and this new project. Jack

Thanks for the reply Ben, I would suggest a video how to secure gigs and how to plan a small tour and what it takes to tour. I know you've already given me advice in person but I think it's good knowledge to share. Cheers

Would you guys consider having a degree in music to be something that is necessary to be a "professional" musician these days? I really do wonder, I know a lot of guitarists with a lot of skills. They can play different genres, they use modal aplication, and so on, but they don't have a "master guitarist degree". For myself I would like to make a living out of it, but I don't have the sheet of paper that says that I'm an "official" musician. I am studying to be a music teacher though, but that doesn't make me an "official" guitarist...

Hey guys. Guess i'll be a bouncer then ;) I know that we should diversify and that's is what i and a lot of people i know actually do. I guess it all comes down some frustration with the fact that music is now such a commodity that the whole professional musician status doesn't really mean anything anymore. You're just expected to deliver music otherwise we'll get it somewhere else. It's sad because musicians are the very soul of music and that individual expression is so overshadowed by a thick veil of marketable and profitable style that people in general don't really feel a need to pay for that unique and relatable thing musicians have to offer. The show must go on but fueled only by the love of doing it, right? Anyway, thank you guys and long live rock n roll.

+towkuhsh That's just the way the world goes, dude! Everything is constantly changing, developing, and evolving. There was a time when you couldn't get music online. And there was a time when physically owning music was rare, too. If you don't embrace the change you can end up stuck in old ways, bitter and unsuccessful while everybody around you accommodates new opportunities and makes the most of them. Yes - the dream of making money by being the guitarist in a successful band might be dwindling, but the dream of being able to write music and have thousands of people hear it instantly is what we live in. That's pretty cool, and there is loads you can do to make the most of that! If it's all about the love of doing it, and the soul of music, then money shouldn't matter anyway. Besides, if something is good, then people - often musicians - will be begging for an opportunity to spend their money on it. We've all seen it - KZbin videos and SoundCloud clips offering previews of new material that artists are working on. What's in the comments? "Take my money!" "Where can I buy this!" "Is there going to be a vinyl version?!" There are fewer barriers between you and your audience now, and if you can capitalise that by putting out great content, your fans, friends, and followers will pay you for what you do. Thank you for your question! I hope we answered it with some useful information :)
