Southern Gothic which was pioneered and brought to common vernacular by JD Wilkes. Along with his music he is a great author. His novel “The Vine That Ate The South” is a must read for indie artist and Appalachian historians and musicians. 16 horsepower, Woven Hand, Doc Boggs, Gid Tanner, etc. Its more of a lifestyle that goes above and beyond just music! Cool video man. I like how you made it funny and light hearted even though their were some heavy subjects.

Not going to lie, I live in the middle of nowhere. Locally we've had murders related to woodchippers, meth use and burying evidence in manure fields just to name a few. I literally live next door to a kult that dances around campfires and giant crosses. I also like to play folk music because it is easy. This might be the perfect genre for me.

I fucking love MurderFolk. Thank you for this. I have a feeling psychobilly (Nekromantics and Demented Are A Go...) influenced a lot of these current bands. Ed Gein was not technically a serial killer. Only killed one person (we know of). Side note: you posted on the day i finally got to see the film Lords of Chaos. I thought it was a decent film. I don't know the historical accuracy of the film but it was a lot better than I thought it was gonna be.
