I've never seen anyone communicate an 'awkward' mode so effectively and so succinctly! You've blown my mind more than once Chris, but this is amazing! I'm really thankful you are sharing these lessons .. the concepts behind the music you share are particularly of interest to me. You have positively impacted my musical efforts such as they are, many thanks. @@chrisbrennanguitar

Once again, F'ing beautiful! I absolutely love the dynamics of your playing. Your musical brain takes us all to other worlds! Attack, crescendo, decrescendo, feel, mood, chordal olympics, there aren't enough words to describe it!

Could I ask? (I've watched this quite a few times now lol) At 3.33 you play a beautiful 'scale' I'm guessing lydian, but its very musical. Ascending. You make it look effortless ... what are you thinking when you approach a run like that. It's a great video. Thank you.
@chrisbrennanguitar
@chrisbrennanguitar 6 ай бұрын
its Lydian Peter yes..thanks for the question!!!! i'm thinkin a combination of chord tones, certain intervals i've practised before and very important is that one single note that makes it E Lydian which is A# .. so i swing in and out of that note to give it that sound.. thats were extreme basics come into play, like knowin the notes on the fretboard well so you can target them and play around them..or i some cases avoid them.
