one more thing that I love about this channel are the kitchen utensils... they look so luxurious yet simple and very convenient to use... I'll try to look for the same things on my next trip to the supermarket...

Part of the appeal of the videos is the way shes prepares the food, with such etiquette and so so delicately. I love it! Francis you'd kick butt on Iron Chef ;-)

Pork shogayaki is delicious and not so expensive. It also gives you energy so that's why salarymen love the dish :)

Thank looks really good. One thing I love about your videos and Japanese cooking in general is portion sizes. Here in the USA we became obsessed with enormous portion sizes.

You can substitute 1 tbsp mirin with 1 tbsp sake + 1 tsp sugar or honey. If you don't have sake, you can also use a white wine with low acidity :)

Cooking should be easy. ↓unnecessary thing. ・Vegetables are what you like. ・trim off ・cut tough stringy parts ・pastry brush, you can put a little flour and pork in a clear plastic bag and shake. The result is a dusting of flour. ・sesame oil, you can use vegetable oil This is common in Japanese households. Good luck from Japan.

Though I must admit that I never really try your recipes, they do inspire me so much. I especially love the calmness. There is no stress, no hurry, only the love for cooking. Yes, I am a CWD-fan!

This dish is simple here im Brasil. Okras are easy to find as cabbage. Difficult is to cut the pork in thinny slices.

:O I didn't know the Japanese used okra. I love 'em. My mom uses them to make this delicious slimy soup. Certainly one of my favorite dishes.

When I was staying at my parents last spring, there was this CM by SMAP's Kusanagi kun about making buta no shogayaki with Ajipon. It never turned out to taste like the real thing. It sure was easy to make but the real thing with every bit of ingredients are better.
