Tried this with all beef ground it boy did this stuff vanish off the plates and when all gone they demanded at least ones a week THANK YOU!! SO MUCH !! I’ve tried many of the cottage / Shepards pie and the Opposite happened they were slipping t to garbage or say sorry don’t have an appetite tonight then order pizza but wow this was a hit thank you !! and my husband and friends stomachs thank you haaa

Great recipe love the lamb. Being Puerto Rican and growing up with the Irish in the Bronx I learned so much. Diversity is in our family lol so we added a little bit of our own ingredients sofrito it worked well.

I’ve had “Cottage Pie” which as you mention is the term used when ground beef is used. I love it! I’ve never had a classic “Shepherds Pie” made with ground lamb but I’m sure it’s equally as delicious! All of your recipes look 🔥🔥!

I LOVE ❤️Shepherds Pie (if only lamb wasn’t so damned expensive in the UK!) Only we make it “naked” (so to speak) just plain lamb mince and chopped veg seasoned with S & P, Worster Sauce (Worstershire to the rest of the world) and lamb stock/broth. Mash made how you did yours only we don’t add cheese - this lets the flavour of the lamb shine. However I think I will cheese up my mash next time I make it.

I've made Cottage Pie plenty of times but never actual Shepherd's Pie. I may one day just to see how the meat tastes. These days I omit the meat completely and make a vegetarian version. I use lentils and mushrooms in place of the meat and add in red cooking wine, veggie stock, and browning sauce for a more umami flavor. I use gouda cheese for mine but have been hearing about the gruyere on top of this so I'll be switching up for sure. Your shepherd pie looks delicious!
