I started doing stretching after having an unbelievable pain in my right leg (so called piriformis syndrome). I was trying all possible exercises found on KZbin and it helped only partly. Finally the physiotherapist helped me to select the most effective stretches to get the relief😅

This is also the difference between passive stretch and yoga. If you don't loose your mind muscle connection is not passive stretch, it's just exploration of your own body without any external disturbance...and i think it's always valuable

Thank you :) I do it exactly intuitively, like you, my body tells me, when you have a lot of body awareness, this approach is close to me, I use and combine various forms of stretching, I also like PNF. i believe that each form of stretching has its advantages, you just need to know it and use it consciously.

This kind of approach looks sustainable but without a "conventional" position I am worried about damage or compensation in other parts of my body. I guess that not feeling any discomfort could be a good point but not sure it's enough or I am enough aware of my body reactions...does it make any sense?

I wouldn't worry about this. Any movement you do that doesn't cause pain is good movement. When you get more in tune with your body, then even some painful movements can be good. But what I got from this is "don't chase positions, chase sensations".

I streth every night before bed, same with rhythmic breathing via karlakattai flow. Impulse stretching is also helpful when you have a solid mind muscle connection and can take advantage of flexed-stretching a muscle
