Explain to viewers the "tune to the key by transpose" as pretty much nobody does that.
@DashGlitch8 ай бұрын
It's so I can write in C and apply that melody/chord to any track by shifting it up or down. It's called "transposing", pointless here as I'm just playing a single note, but it's habit when I produce
@deoananas47458 ай бұрын
i do it and lot of guys i know do it
@digidope8 ай бұрын
@@deoananas4745 I have never heard or seen other than Dash doing that. You learn most of the scales anyways while doing music. Only sure way to not learn anything is to stick with C and use transpose. Also it's really hard to colloborate when others are WTF are these notes? Also when you copy-paste midi to another track you need to re-do the transposation every time. Here is a tip: Use midi transpose effect in your track so you can still play in C but the actual notes in the DAW will be the correct ones. or even better: Get a midicontroller that has transpose function.
@deoananas47458 ай бұрын
@@digidope there are more ways of transposing in cubase. I don't want to name artists but there are plenty who are doing it not just for midi notes but for samples, for tempo, for whole synthesis using all kinds of approaches including frequency shifters, pitch shifters, you name it, not just default transpose.
@digidope8 ай бұрын
@@deoananas4745 yeh, but this was just about one being too lazy to actually learn any other scale than C minor. Also: Why even bother with C minor when A minor would be just the white keyes :D

Same way, but with the Analog Sine you have a harmonic control directly on the osc

It is actually quite easy to do just about the same thing in Phase Plant. You just need to play with the sync of an Analog oscillator. This would allow one not to only use sine wave osc but also saws and squares.
@SpaceAmbientMusic8 ай бұрын
Thx for that, love you showing how to do it in Bitwig
@gianabrotherz8 ай бұрын
Cool video. Unfortunately, I'm not in front of Bitwig right now, but as I was watching it, I thought how cool it would might sound when taking an instrument layer rack, put vital in, duplicate it, and separate the oscillators. So, one with the sine waveform, the other with the harmonic wave, and then to process the harmonic one with filters plus :-)
@DashGlitch8 ай бұрын
Indeed, and on top of that for even more interesting timbre, you can pitch bend the top layer harmonic very slightly

Cool video mate! you could use an envelope to raise osc2's level instead of a macro, also you can get the growl sound on any filter swept sound using a multiband distortion plugin, Trash2 is good 4 it :)
@DashGlitch8 ай бұрын
True but macros makes it easy to fine-tune after you have the template, also trash2 is long discontinued right? I try not work with too much discontinued software because it could be tomorrow it doesn't work anymore, so Rift is my current replacement. It's lacking some features but does others much much better
