I didn't see many comments saying how the recipe turned out so I figured I'd leave my review. It worked really well and I was kinda skeptical when the dough didn't quite rise as much after I cut them out but they baked perfectly in the air fryer. The glaze is a bit basic and you need a pretty thick coat to actually taste it but they're delicious. Took a good 4 hours but half of the time I was just waiting for it to rise or bake. I would definitely recommend doing as long as you have to time to. They also don't feel as unhealthy since they weren't deep fried.

These were great! The only thing I have to say is that if you have a different sized/brand air fryer than her, you may need to experiment with how long the cooking time should be. For me, my Ninja fried them perfectly at 3-4 minutes on 345 since 5-6 minutes was too long, over cooking them. Also if you want them sweeter, double dipping them does the trick. Great recipe! Fam loved them.
@SimplyHomeCooked3 жыл бұрын
So happy you loved these air fryer donuts! Thank for your feedback :) Yes different brands/sizes may affect the bake/cook time. For mine I needed 5-6 minutes. I tried a minute less and it was under cooked. Double or even triple dipping will definitely add some sweetness :)

I tried these today and I was actually really surprised at how good they turned out. I was a bit skeptical at first, considering this was my first time working with yeast on my own. It took me much longer than average; only because something came up in the middle of proofing the bread, although they still turned out great! For proofing, since my house is slightly colder than normal (it being winter), I took a large-ish bowl of hot water and put it in the oven along with my bowl of dough, and it rose a lot. Although I put a little bit too much oil in the bowl, so after it was very oily when I had to take it out; I just dried it a bit with paper towels. While cutting out the shapes, I didn’t have either biscuit cutters nor doughnut cutters, and, me being me, I wasn’t about to go out and buy them, so I just used a glass cup and the back end of a piping tip. Last, for glaze, since I didn’t have corn syrup, I just used maple syrup, and let me tell you, it tasted really delicious. Although I think the 2 cups of powdered sugar was a bit much, I could really taste the powdered sugar in it, though putting less it would probably make the glaze more watery. Also I think it was because of the different brands of air-fryers, but my doughnuts turned out slightly more browned than hers (nothing to complain about though, they were amazing nonetheless). I was initially worried they would burn but nope! Overall, they turned out really delicious and soft. It really helped me break through my original fear of working with yeast, all the waiting and rising, but now I’m inspired to bake a lot more things with it! Thank you for the recipe! 😊

Thank you for posting this! I have made these 3 times now. Honestly I had some trouble with the recipe but third time lucky, so a couple of notes in case it it helps anyone else. First, my dough never came away clean from the bowl using the recommended measurements and I am not sure why. In fact it was almost a pouring consistency! I had to add a lot more flour to make the dough come semi clean from the bowl and then the doughnuts were dry. However, when I added just enough flour to get some firmness to the batter (but not to get it clean from the bowl) that worked out much much better and the end product was very light. Second, I added some nutmeg and cinnamon to the batter to give it more flavour and that worked out well too. Third, double dipping on the glaze is definitely recommended. Lastly, once risen, the dough will also freeze well (just in case you don’t want to eat 10 doughnuts in one go)! Thanks again for the recipe it’s been fun trying it out.

Cup measures are really unreliable for flour measurements, as the flour will have a different size depending on humidity, how much you pack it in, whether your cup is actually accurately graded (many commercially available ones aren't). If that makes sense. :)
@paulam37453 жыл бұрын
Just made these this morning. DELICIOUS!! Not heavy or greasy or too sweet. I added about 4 extra tablespoons of flour, then turned the dough onto a floured wooden board and brought it together. Perfect texture. If I had left it in the bowl, I likely would have added another tablespoon of flour and it would not have been necessary. As per another comment, my donuts only required 4 minutes of cooking time (I have an Ultrean air fryer). I also did 2 light dips of plain glaze then drizzled them with some chocolate glaze for a pretty effect. I tried another air fryer recipe a couple of weeks ago and they were heavy and dry. This recipe is PERFECT. Key is not too much flour and not to overcook them. Thanks so much Dina for this amazing recipe! It is a keeper.

These donuts as delicious as they look have loads of sugar! I’ll prob try it out anyway at some point wo eggs and dairy milk. At least they are homemade and not fried i suppose. Tried your recipe and it came out purrrfect‼️I followed the instruction to a tee, however, I allowed the yeast mixture to sit longer and there was alot of foam. As well, i allowed the dough to sit longer than recommended. The first batch of donuts to go into into airfryer, I had inadvertently didn't let it sit and rise; it still came out okay. However, for the second batch, as they had to wait on the first batch, they rise and after being airfried came out extra light and airy. I doubledipped the donuts in the glaze and added rainbow sprinkles .... the sweetness of the glaze complimented the donuts,, as they weren't overly sweet..... they were an hit... also added cocopowder to the glaze mixture. Thanks 😊

So, I made these today -- not as yummy as Krispy Kreme, but pretty darned tasty! I had to get creative to make a cutter, so finally decided on emptying out a 12.5 oz. flat can of chicken for the 4" circle, and used a pineapple corer for the holes. I got 9 donuts from the dough. They took an extra minute in my new oven air fryer (just getting acquainted with it); however, I should have removed the cookie sheet on the shelf below because some were browned, others weren't. When I removed one to sample, I at first thought it was doughy -- but then decided it was just really tender! Thanks for the recipe and directions, Dina!

@@mddell58 I watched a few videos from you tube for the breading and sauce for the sandwich. Adapted the time from what I gleaned from air fryer recipes for chicken breasts. I adapted it somewhat for our likings. Must tell you, it is very messy, but they really are pretty good. Made last night and not a speck left over. Last night didn’t get the brioche buns but used Sam’s croissants. Very good alternative. Also had used chicken tenders this time and was easy to piece together the meat to fit the bread.

This recipe is amazing. I followed the instructions to a T. and my donuts came out perfect. I used a ninja XL airfryer and i placed it on 345 F for 3.5 -4 minutes. The only feedback I had from my kids were that the essence in the glaze frosting was overpowering, so next time, I'll probably do about 1/2 teaspoon. Also, the eggs can smell really raw and a great way to reduce that raw smell is by squeezing about 1/2 teaspoon of fresh lime juice to the eggs to reduce the raw smell.

Not a bot IF YOU START READING MAKE SURE YOU FINISH THIS IS A SIGN FROM GOD FOR YOU!!: GUYS IM BEING DEAD SERIOUS JESUS PUT IT ON MY HEART TO WRITE THIS AND SAID IT WOULD SPEAK TO SOMEONE REALLY!! Please don’t think I’m playing cuz I would never lie on His name like that 💯 God says He sees you & notices you for your true beauty. He said that there are times where you’ve struggled to find peace & happiness but those times you looked haven’t been ignored by Him. He said that He sees and notices all the hurt you’ve been through & all the times you stayed up overthinking. He says He has been there with you everyday even if it didn’t feel like you feel Him. He said that He loves you for who you are & understands you more than you sometimes understand yourself. He wants you to know nothing you do can make Him love you any less. He says that He’s seen your hurt and how people have said words that hurt you more than they know. He says He has compassion for what you went through and He wants you to know you’re never too far from Him. He said He will lift your spirit up & refresh you & will show you where you need to go in life. He said that He sees your family & cares for them so much & that they will be protected by Him wherever they go. He says He has seen your tears and the tears that you held in & you didn’t see it but He was there with you crying next to you. He feels hurt every time you felt hurt. He says He sees you as His precious beloved, He calls you His beloved. He sees you for who you really are, and it’s hard for others to understand but He understands you completely. He wants to give you His love into your heart & fill you with peace like you’ve never felt before. He wants to be your friend, He wants a relationship with you. He’s asking you to invite Him into your life. He’s at the door right now and wants to give you his blessings and unconditional love and peace. He’s asking if your willing to invite Him into your life? IF YOU WANT TO ACCEPT HIM INTO YOUR LIFE JUST SAY THIS PRAYER OUT LOUD, NOT JUST IN YOUR HEAD, JUST SAY IT IT TAKES 1 MIN BUT MAKES YOUR SOUL 100% GO TO HEAVEN AND GIVES GOD ACCESS TO WORK IN YOUR LIFE, DONT HISITATE!!! MEAN WHAT YOU ARE SAYING, & BELIEVE HE HEARD YOU BECAUSE HE DID!! ITS THAT EASY IM BEING SO SERIOUS SAY THESE WORDS AND MEAN IT & YOULL GO TO HEAVEN!!! "Heavenly Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. I now renounce any connection, attachments, and leverage I have given willingly or unwillingly to the devil. I acknowledge him as an enemy and accused against me and also against you and I will not support anything he plans on doing in my life. I declare his assignments in my life broken and destroyed in Jesus name. I declare that I trust you are much much more stronger than him and I declare that I as a new believer have been given power and authority over and against him in Jesus name. You are my defense and my stronghold, my heart will trust in you. In Jesus name, I declare that my thoughts, actions, and behaviors are free from the devils doing and I know and have faith you are fighting for me. Anytime I feel weird or off or feel something trying to attack my spirit, I will realize that is not you but from the devil and I will say out loud ‘In Jesus name, I am free and on fire for God, anything near or around me will feel the scorching fire of the Holy God and the fire will not leave them in Jesus name’! (Literally say you are pouring fire on the demons around you whenever you feel off or just mad at the demons for being evil lol but you HAVE to say in Jesus name you are doing this) Lord thank you for hearing me and I trust and believe your ears are always listening to my prayer and even if I don’t see it with my eyes, my life is changed for the better in Jesus name. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen." HES FOREVER IN YOUR LIFE AFTER YOU SAID THAT PRAYER NOW EVEN IF YOU DONT FEEL HIM JUST KNOW HE IS WATCHING OVER YOU! NOW ITS YOUR TURN TO GROW YOUR FRIENDSHIP W HIM! YOURE ALREADY ON YT SEARCH UP HOW TO BUILD A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!! THATS HOW YOU START HEARING HIM AND SEEING HIM AS A FRIEND!! There's no way that's going to work. The only reason these come out the way they do is because of the gluten in them, using 1 to 1 flour is probably going to make them more like cake at best (if you include baking soda/powder) and dense at worst.

I just finished making these. They're delicious. I had a bit of trouble with the dough so I had to add a bit more to make it a tad firmer. Probably an issue on my end with ratios and whatnot as I'm used to the metric system. When frying them I started off with 4 minutes for the first batch but for the following ones I reduced the time to 3 minutes with better results on the outside crust. I also only sprayed the doughnuts once every other batch as the remaining oil from previous batches proved to be enough. I guess it all comes down to each machine and the way they circulate air. It might also have to do with the fact that what I used as cutter was smaller than the usual and that might've sped up the cooking process. Anyway, this has been a very useful recipe video in order to learn. Thank you!
