Cover your cake with a piece of aluminum foil, or put a pan on the top and bottom racks of the oven and put the cake in the middle rack :)

Wow! I made your chocolate cake for a relative's birthday this weekend. UNREAL! So delicious! You had me at 'fudgy' and your recipe delivers! My mother in law couldn't decide if she liked the cake or the icing better. Compliments all around! We accidently added an extra quarter cup dark coffee, but the cake came out moist, with a deep chocolate taste. We also used a special dark, 100% cacao. We are hooked! Thanks for sharing!

I just saw your channel and can I tell you something I instantly really REALLY appreciated? Your videos are short! And I can't emphasise just how much I appreciate this one simple fact. You probably think I'm exaggerating but quite honestly, when you have to make something that takes quite some time (I'm a beginner), like an hour or a few, it's SO irritating having to go over a certain step in the video that is like 10 minutes long, because I tend to repeat certain parts I find difficult. This is the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had, hands down! It’s super easy to make and the cake is rich and dense. The frosting is addictive. I made this. It's VERY delicious! I didn't have baking powder so I didn't add it but it was still very good! Putting the icing into fridge makes it very good and easier to use! 💛

Hey.. First of all I'm a big fan of ur devil's chocolate cake recipe! I've been doing it for yrs but.. Lately, the last two times that I've tried this cake it always deflates... Like after its done baking n I keep it aside for cooling... It kinda deflates to half the size. Can u tell me wat is causing this problem? I really want to make it for my mom for her bday.. Hi Gauravi, it is normal for cakes to deflate a bit, but too much of it might be if move them from hot/cold too quickly or if they are underbaked. For buttermilk you can use milk and vinegar/lemon juice- see the blog post for proportions/amounts :)
