Hi Dave, as soon as I saw your video (11.00 pm and just couldn't wait) I went outside to my shop and started with the mig tip which I have plenty knocking around, I chucked it up in my lathe and tapered the end but I'll have to wait until tomorrow (darn it) to get some fittings but I will post you some pics or even a video when I get it up and running. Nice job dude, and thanks for sharing .keep up the good work.

@coolobuttface Hello, This burner is called a siphon burner. That meant that a stream of compressed air (going through the back of my burner) blows out the nozzle with enough velocity that it pulls (siphons) fuel through the front tube (on my burner) and atomizes the fuel. The fuel and air mixture can then be ignited. Mine is designed to be used on my outside foundry furnace to melt metal in a crucible. Hope that helps! Is this silver soldered, or just regular plumber's solder?

Regular plumbers solder. It really shouldn’t get hot especially if you remove the burner from the furnace as soon as you turn it off

If you are looking for a propane burner, there are probably better options than mine...look up Michael porter burner...he wrote a book on his burner design. The .035 tip will work but it will use more air from the compressor. My burner tube is small because that is what fit into my furnace. I think it would operate better with a 2.5 or 3 inch tube but I haven't experimented with that.

Awesome. I've been looking for a blower design that's a little easier to build than the reil or upwind style. I can definitely make one of these. I picked up some mig tips at wally world. They're .035, will these still work ok? If not, I'll return them with some excuse (I already filed one) and pick up some .025s from Home Depot, which I can hopefully go to today. One more question, what is the diameter of the burner pipe you're mounting this in? Does it matter?
