I just googled the Big Mac when first introduced in 1969, It was 45 cents, today $6.71 1.391% more everyone is in denial of INFLATION. flour, pickles, sesame seeds, cheese, beef, lettuce, onions, special sauce, have not changed only the greed of people.
@leedoss6905Ай бұрын
You're looking through it through today's eye. In 1969 the minimum wage was $1.45 an hour. Probably no insurance either. Today the minimum wage is 7.75 an hour. So you get a Big Mac for every hour you work if you make minimum wage. And yes many states like Texas haven't raised the minimum wage. Californias minimum wage is 20 dollars an hour for fast food workers.

Gotta be honest Greg, you went out on a big limb on this one, and the one thing I can say is that you seemed genuinely surprised at the end result. It was a great watch and well worth your efforts. Great video and choices to use in the UFO machine! Makes me think of my boys growing up, they'd quite often make pie sandwiches, a cooked meat pie between two slices of bread, this would have been perfect, drop a hot cooked meat pie on a bun large enough to seal, add grated cheese, tomato sauce and some onion relish between the bun and pie, then go to town 😁

There was a UFO burger drive in hamburger place in Billings, MT 40 - 50 years ago. My friend from Billings missed them when he moved to Seattle area. I tried them and didn't like them, they were still there 20 or so years ago. The thing I didn't like about them was they put the meat in the bun raw and it got all that grey juice from the burger patty cooking. This one looks good.

@zonacrsАй бұрын
I was prepared for a major "meh" until I watched. This thing could pretty much elevate any fresh fast food burger and be a nice re-heat option for basic burgers without lettuce or tomato that are no longer fresh. Thought bubbles using the same buns presented. 1) Scoop the top bun slightly to make a 'bread bowl' for filling and put that side in facing down. 2) Fill with pork chile verde and cojita cheese. Carne asada, refried beans and cheese, chopped bbq, sloppy joe filling, Italian beef etc. Panini press meets sealed bun Torta maker if you will. 2 or 3 of those and some beer filled friends could be a lot of fun, or a complete disaster...

It looks more like one of those pocket sandwich makers. You know, the ones with the triangular pockets next to each other forming a square, two of them, top and bottom, where you'd grease that, put your bread and fillings and top it with another slice of bread, then close it and cook it and your sandwich would be all sealed like a Hot Pocket.
@thnksnoАй бұрын
Just a thought. If you build the burger or desert backwards. The bun top, now the bottom, can be centered more easily. Then, center the bottom, and maybe the rim will be more equal. You're going to flip it anyway to lock the griddles.

Good suggestion. I'll give that a try. Thanks!

When I was a youngster my parents had a round pie iron that we took camping. Lots of fun. As far as your Bananas Foster Sandwich, try oversized white bread slices and a oversized SS ring the diameter of your press to cut the bread to size. Use some Orange Powder on one bead slice and chocolate powder on the other slice. Assemble with ice cream, bananas, and touch of chocolate sauce. Cheers
