This is the chow mein we were used to in the Pacific Northwest. We moved and they all make it with noodles, like low mein here, but they call it chow mein. This is SO much better. Now we can have what we love again. Thank you!

This is the chow mien I was use to, now most places makes it with noodles almost like a low mien , but this is the real McCoy

I love chow mein. None of the restaurants in our area serve chow mein anymore. I was so happy to find this video showing how to make it. I am excited to try this. I wasn't sure what was added to it to season and flavor it. And you are right, the bean sprouts are a must. Thank you.

I am so happy to find this Veggie Chow Mein... Happy to know that it is considered American Chinese.,,, Most of the recipes are shown with soft noodles.. On the East Coast, I have always had with fried noodles.. Thank you so much...

You Rock !! That is the most beautiful and traditional ( my fav) style of vegetable chow mein.... I cannot wait to try your recipe, I'm sure I'll probably screw it up but I will give it my best, thanks for the great presentation..

I love this style better than any other style. I use my cleaver to chop my veggies as well but have to sharpen it.

I have got to say I have been watching How to make chow mein video's and even that last one I just watched right before watching your video He said he owned a restaurant, Did not cut the veggies so fast and beautifully as you just did. LOL Wow I am amazed and If I tried to cut that fast I'd cut my fingers off LOL I just know I would lose a finger or 2.. LOL I will watch more of your video's just so I can watch you do that again. You Awesome and Your way of making Chow Mein looked more like what I was thinking it should look like and MMMM I have a craving for Chow Mein so bad I can taste it already That is why I was looking it up because I thought I wonder how hard it is to make and It seems so easy but Nobody makes it the same so I am thinking I will just have to figure it out and only 2 out of the 5 video's I watched used sesame oil and I was wondering about the toasted vs the regular sesame oil and I remember the toasted being really strong in flavor and not to use more than a drop or 2 because it will over power and not be good But Then I got the regular sesame oil because it can't be that different but it is so much different and Now I also wonder What do I do with the regular sesame oil that I have? lol

I have a question Do You use toasted sesame oil or just regular sesame oil because I couldn't find toasted sesame oil so i got regular sesame oil and it was not at all the same??

The other day … I went to Luxky Chen …the girl ask if I want soft or crispy noodles and I pick crispy. I got home I thought the restaurant was saving money that is why there were NI noodles! In Khmer the words chow mein translated means stir fry noodles! But apparently not …I was so angry that I didn’t finish in one sitting I save dirt cheap chow mein for my lunch

I think it's a chopper knife, not butcher knife lol. In chinese cooking, they uses this kind of knifes instead of western ones. Mastering the skill takes alot of practices, maybe need years before one can execute cutting skill with high precision.

No its not how it's made... Wrong method. You need boiled and oiled noodles and toss them along with the veggies in the pan
