this is such a great idea! i don't think i would use it on my good markers, but on my cheap ones when they run out of ink, imight experiment!

I realize a lot more testing needs to be done, and I am in the process of it right now. One thing I'm doing is filtering the ink through a couple coffee filters to get rid of any microscopic solids. I've refilled 2 markers and will let them sit for a month. Then I will try it out again and see how the dye affects the felt tips. And if the ink is still as vibrant on paper. Of course I will also be playing around with the inks and watching for any undesired effects. :)

The marker has held up great. I made several other inks with other colors of dye and I have used them on several pieces without a problem. The piece I made in this video still looks the same.

I’ve seen a tuit for using old colouring markers, (water based kind). The nib and end are removed then the barrel(?) inside, along with the bib, are thoroughly rinsed out. Giving at least 24h to dry thoroughly, refill

Yes. I've tried that and it does work well. But I like my water based markers too much and they are probably pricier than ranger or other inks. But it is a great idea for someone who has some cheap markers lying around and they want to try alcohol inks out before they buy! :) Thanks for watching! 😊💙

Hey, what about using the alcohol with Watercolors instead of water?? Did you tried this before? Lol i just thought about it

Dosnt work same with acrylic it melts the binders and then you have pigment floating around in the alcohol in little blobs
