I've never really thought about it. When I get my client, I was going to do 50% upfront and 50% at the end of the project I have never thought of clients ghosting you something to think about

I do 50% upfront. but the problem I saw is that some clients would still literally take forever, years at times. The issue with these is that you still have to exhaust resources and do light maintenance just to keep it stagnant. Therefore what I did was add a clause to my contract, that if the website is not live at 3 months after the estimated deadline then 50% of the cost of the maintenannce plan must be covered. Explain to the client that this is to cover server and stability costs for keeping your website in development.

@@tristanparker hello Sir. First of all sorry that happened to you. Also you have been an inspiration to me and mentor. I've been using your strategies and resources lately that have helped. Now one strategy I have used is of course a deposit up front before work which is written in my contract. I also do installment payments options. Example if it's a 10 page website needed I would design/build the first 3 pages show client the work and if happy. It's in my contract that other pages won't be started on until they make the installment payment for the next 3 pages and so on until all website is completed. Hope that helps. Thanks again for your videos

just get a 50% upfront and then let them fade as much as they want, i would use their designs as templates

I firstly make them pay everything up front so if they drag their heals I have the money. In the t&cs add a clause that states if they ignore you for 60 days you will backup the site and archive. If they want the files they can request this. If they want to reactivate the project there is a fee say £200. That sorts most situations .

Interesting? So you bill for the whole website upfront? What circumstances would see you taking the site away?
@MarkNarussonАй бұрын
@@tristanparker it's been good and I have only had one client who hasn't finished off their website. But that's okay I've got the money. The one payment only really works when you give them a time window. So if they proceed within seven days they get X amount off the total bill.
