I'm going to be honest, after seeing the title and thumbnail, I was expecting a cheap, poorly made video without any care put in except for a few minutes in training mode. However instead this is a great, concise source of Byleth's basics, and the only real problem with the video is lack of information, not wrong information. Basically everything said was right, just with some missing information. For example, you're right that down tilt combos into up air and sometimes up b, you just didn't include up tilt and f tilt at low percents. You're also one of the few people who doesn't say that his up b combos are true. I see so many people who just hop into training mode, try an up b combo, see the combo counter say it's true, and go on to tell others it's true. You either tested out his up b with di, or did some research, both are a lot more than some people do. Good video, like a bite sized Izaw.

Thank you for this! We recently added this character to our roster. I have 2 kids (8 and 6) that play this daily, while I am pretty good and put up a challenge for them, overtime they've started becoming a little more skilled than I. I really like playing this character but due to it's lack of speed it's been a struggle. With the few tricks I learned in this video, they are definitely going have more difficulty taking me on now!

This guide is great. Sometimes I want to mess around with a character and I don’t feel like listening to someone ramble for 20 minutes about every niche application of a characters kit. Just want to hear the basics and get started. Well done.

Gotta say, this is definitely the best guide so far. You can tell this guy actually plays and knows what he’s talking about. I myself am an avid player and recently I’ve been trying to get a better grip on Byleth’s strengths, but most of the videos I’ve watched highlight combos that weren’t done in actual matches or didn’t tend to work When players DI. I feel this video highlights Byleth’s key points beautifully, and has definitely given my Byleth gameplay a new edge. Thanks for the vid man, keep up the work. 👍

A good combo is ( really works at low percents and after the d tilt hits ) nair dtilt up tilt up air up b side b get them to around 48 or so

A little bit more than half of this stuff I've already been doing, but when somebody presents it to me it clicks even better. If anything this has given me even more ideas for Up-B mix ups to do on my friends. This is a really well made video; (even if I am 13 days late to the party). One "confirm" I have found Labbing with my friends is at low percents, D-Tilt into Up Smash. It's heavily DI dependent, but around 0%-20% all of my friends have failed to escape it. Then a thought experiment of mine was Ledge Trump into Up-B Spike or Ledge Trump into B-Air.

this is great but i think something important to note is that at around 120-160% (depending on the opponents weight) byleths up special can still combo into side b due to the spike bouncing the opponent high enough and if they have bad di. i get a lot of kills from that confirm

on tiny thing missed (in my opinion) you can weaken an enemy's shield with f-air b-air neutral-b or pretty much anything really and down smash will break it and down smash comes out relatively quickly for a shield breaking move Trust me it works way better than you'd think people don't see it coming and expect their shield to withstand a second hit

@XenadoSmash4 жыл бұрын
Down air is simply pressing down on the control stick as well as pressing "A" on your controller. Majority of basic smash inputs are pressing either A combined with a direction for normal attacks, or B combined with a direction for special attacks.

Playing as Byleth requires you to keep a distance from your opponent cuz the tip of Areadbhar deals the most damage and Failnaught. If an opponent really comes by, down-b to victory(or down smash). I defeated a level 9 CPU using this strategy without spiking once.

Is your overall roster GSP high? If so, it doesn't take many wins. The real grind is having a low roster GSP, and opting to main a character and drag him/her to Elite Smash. You start at around 2 million GSP, and need to get to 9.5 million.

most Fire Emblem chars in smash are too complex or their animation are too stale to for most players to find them enjoyable, but as for me it doesnt matter what they are i still enjoy using them, Robin is pretty much the only mage in the Fire emblem roster to be in smash and Byleth is the only one who use other weapons than just a single sword, Corrin is the only shapeshifter of the 8 FE char, if Nintendo really wants to put another FE char i would prefer that its gonna be a beast char like Kaden or Keaton that uses their beast form to battle without weapons that will be more tolerable imo, the toxic players who raged at Byleth trailer gave me a huge headache but they're right about 1 thing tho, they're all sword chars and doesnt have any other fighting style for the other FE roster who have join smashed even with different moveset, and i understand why others were happy about Steve and Sephiroth despite beign swordmens at least they're more reconized by almost every retro gamers, i wonder what we will have next

@XenadoSmash4 жыл бұрын
Yes, if I could see into the future to see the development of the character I'm sure it could be more accurate. And last I checked everything is accurate, just maybe not up to date with any developments
@happyducky98724 жыл бұрын
@@XenadoSmash Oh no I don't mean look into the future or anything, I just mean that with what you chose to include, it could have just been more accurate. There are new developments, yes, but I'm not surprised that you aren't aware of them... cause like nobody knows about them, even byleth mains.
@AbeDorf184 жыл бұрын
@@XenadoSmash its pretty good as far as early byleth guides go, but its definitely not fully accurate. For example, you said side B is safe on shield if you space it. This is not true, the opponent can simply drop shield dashgrab. Its very minus on shield. You also said that rapid jab is -15 on shield, but its actually -40. Only jab 1 is -15. You said downthrow combos into nair, then showed a clip of it not comboing. To be clear it can combo, but only on bad DI or if they are pretumble, so it really only works at 0%. you said up B combos can be simply DI’ed out of, this is again not true. Byleth can double jump out of up B which was well known in march, and this allows her to catch DI out with a side B or a delayed fastfall back air. So yeah even when you dont include all the new stuff thats been discovered, its got some inaccuracies.

I will never figure out how in the hell players make the smallest jump known to man and still pull off a neutral air attack
