Nice but never understood the army coming up with hand release push ups. The problem with push ups has always been ppl not going all the way up & locking out their arms.

Honestly, I just put some dumbells and some small weight plates in a backpack and started doing pushups with it on. Regular pushups did nothing for me because they were too easy. I do 10 sets of reps until failure. I keep the backpack heavy enough to where I can only do about 5 or 6 reps max, which for me is a 30lb backpack but you can figure how much weight you need. I do this workout about once every 3 days. Add weight as nedeed. I increased my bodyweight pushup count from like 6 reps to 15 reps with this method and im still getting stronger. This might not be the perfect way to increase your pushup count but it works for me, try it.

Try to get as much sleep as you can at basic. Your body isnt going to recover as fast as the young bucks youll be with (19-23 year olds). Be smart, and avoid injuries by getting enough rest.
