@soverato3 You could, but use it at your own discretion. The cheaper stuff tends to build up carbon more easily. But with that said, I use the cheap stuff also.

50 parts fuel to 1 part oil. To keep things simple, use the same units then it's not as confusing.

It's less confusing to convert liters the can holds to milliliters and then divide by 50 to get the amount of oil to add in milliliters for 50:1. So a 5 liter can equals 5,000 milliliters, (just multiply by 1,000) then divide 5,000 by by 50 equals 100 milliliters of oil to add to a 5 liter can for a 50:1 mix.

I know you can damage the motor if not enough oil gets into the fuel mix. What if you accidentally put too MUCH oil in the mix? Is there a downside, other than dirtier exhaust?

you will foul a spark plug and need to clean or replace it

Thanks for the tip on fuel and oil mix. I recently acquired the same model Toro as you have. They didn't have the manual. Can you tell me where the oil drain and filler is located. Do I have to take the bottom panel off. Thanks for your help

Peter F If you have the Toro CCR 2000, then their is no oil and filler plug, as this engine is 2 cycle. You must mix oil and gas together with a good quality 2 cycle oil to lubricate the engine. If you fail to mix gas and oil, you will seize your engine.

If you look on the side of the bottle, there is a graduated level stripe. Should have oz and ml. It's not a NASA rocket. The tolerances aren't that tight. In fact, the same engine on the Lawnboy rebranded Toros call for the same 32:1 as their later 2 stroke mowers. The OLD ones ran on 16:1! Blue smoke heaven. I know this vid is 10 yrs old. Someone else my find it helpful. Try to find oil that meets or exceeds JASO-FD specs. You can find cheap oil that meets this. Check the bottle.

@soverato3 Excess carbon is bad. There's always going to be a bit of carbon in there. Some of it gets blown out the exhaust. It's the buildup that's bad ie using bad gas, bad oil, etc in the long run, there's going to be carbon buildup... And no, the carbon will not fill in the scratches.

Would be easier to make 5 litres total, then you would add 100ml of 2 stroke oil.

Get a gallon of gas and put in most the small 3.6. Oz of 2 cycle engine oil. Shake. Your done.

Yes it's the same gas used in cars but with 2 stroke oil mixed in it.
