Can you use black paint instead of black Gesso...i only have white
@sharonpilcher9052 Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for this! I became inspired & made a canvas using small stones & sticks in place of steam punk materials. I was unable to get the spritzer to work. So I brushed on gold & blue.

Who would have thought that ya junk draw (everyone has 1 draw in the kitchen) that all useless shit gets put into - usually only ever sorted out, when moving house or mega spring clean. From now on I'm keeping it all - who knew it could be made to look so good. Wow yet again you blew me away. I NEED those sprays. Could u use the sprays and Jesso on card stock for making Birthday cards extra xx 10/10. Keep them coming I'm addicted Hun

If doing this technique on wooden box is glue gun or gel medium better to adhere the metal and chipboard embellishments. Sorry for the questions but could not find wooden box tutorial on your channel. Thank you 😊

So well-crafted, Mike. The end result is both gorgeous and fun at the same time! I enjoy this technique very much, as all of that painstaking glueing of objects is quite meditative. I don't know if they sell E6000 in your country, but it can hold even the heaviest objects on a substrate. Of course, the fumes are just awful, so I like the idea of a glue gun for the lighter stuff - wouldn't have thought to use it for this, so thanks! Keep the vids coming!

Hey! I wanted to ask, can I do something like that to my journal? I'm really into steampunk art, and I was wondering if adding pieces and findings would be a problem to close the book etc. Oh and in one video of yours, you asked about the balkiness of the book, one way to do it is to add the least amount of water possible or just begin with the pages in the middle and work your way. Or you can just tie it with a string or put books above it to reduse it kinda. Hope it helps x
@MikeDeakinArt9 жыл бұрын
Kat Hi Kat, yes doing this on a book cover is ideal. I have three books/note books that I've done this to. Just remember that the more bulk the harder it will be to lay flat for writing or drawing in! I never decorate the backs..only the fronts. Mx

Hi mike love your work. Just a question I don’t have a heat gun. Do you have to use one or can you just wait for paint to dry naturally.
@MikeDeakinArt5 жыл бұрын
Acrylic paint doesn't take too long to dry naturally (depending on your local climate!) A hair dryer will work just as well - just don't hold it in one place for too long!!
