I’m 27 and have lived by myself (or with my boyfriend/husband) since I was 19. I’m just really excited about moving. Some tips that I have: -If living by yourself make sure your rent is less then 1/3 of your TAKE HOME pay -know what your rent covers (is gas, trash water included, or is that separate?) -deep clean at least two months out. You should touch everything you own. Get rid of a lot of stuff donate it and only pack what you need -give one trusted friend a key that lives close so when you accidentally through your key into the dumpster you don’t have to climb two stories off the side of the building to get into your porch.

You can become an investor. The major challenges investors face may range from controlling impulsiveness to the frail of compulsion. Most newbies and would be investors often undermine and most often neglect the importance of technical analysis with regards to trading. Technical analysis overly predicts the movement of asset prices regardless of what is happening in the wider or broader market. Essentially, the process involves studying the paths of a particular asset movement in the past so as to establish a sustainable pattern that can be used to predict future movements. @kiearacelina

It wasn’t an obligation lol it was just a suggestion. I know myself and the more I had my card, the more likely I was to spend. Giving my mom my card let me learn how to detach from my card and unnecessary spending because I knew she would question me when ever I asked for it so I would always have to think about whether I not I really needed the thing I was thinking about buying and that helped me with discipline. She didn’t have the code to it either so it wasn’t like she could spend the money. If you know you can be responsible with it then fine, that tip was just a suggestion for people who tend to spend a lot.

I agree with most things, but if you can't afford to pay exactly 200$ a month for restaurants and drinks or save 500$ a month, but your mental state at home is suffering, move anyways. You can always cut back on some expenses, but at least the emotional damage will not continue further
@kiearacelina

Of course but most people want to have a social life and not only have home and worm as options so you would have peace of mind from being in your own space then have to be depressed for not having a life. It may be easy the first few months to sacrifice that but it’s human nature to want to go out and do things with friends ... so it’s still important to take that into consideration ☺️

My motive for moving out is my mom gave me a well deserved talk about my responsibilities I need to have as a 23 year old that will be graduating this spring. She proceeds to turn it into an argument about how I’m being perceived as disrespectful because I am sometimes inconsistent with how I carry my weight around the house like I should(like she wants me to cook for the house) .I don’t have a job currently but I’m a full time student and my parents are both fine with that until graduation but my mom always throws me not having a job in my face since she technically doesn’t have to financially provide for me anymore yet she still wants me to finish and focus on school since my grades slacked when I had a job. I’m not upset about her telling me to be more consistent, it’s just her always throwing it my face (like I’m basically a bum) whenever there’s a minor inconvenience. It’s like I can’t get a word in otherwise and my mental health and feelings are invalid because I’m a “pampered princess”. It’s like they want me to stay home and leave whenever I’m ready and able to but then she then she says some shit that hurts my feelings then says there are other people that would love to be in your position right now. So now I’m currently trying to hopefully find a job I can have set after college so I can get tf out of there.

All these tips were super helpful. Me and my brother moved out of our parents’ place three years ago and now I’m preparing to live on my own. It’s super scary thinking about because there will be no more splitting bills, but I know I can do it. I found that student housing is actually more affordable for me and all utilities are included as well as a washer and dryer! I’m in a little bit of a rough patch in my life because I’m looking for a new job, it once I get a job everything will fall into place. I wrote out a mock budget and I need a job that pays at least $2500-$3000 a month to cover all of my monthly expenses and be comfortable.

@@djmusclecok I dont know why just now seeing this but most definitely not that amount. You have to establish yourself before just up and moving. $2k you will be back in your parents home in no time unless you are living paycheck to paycheck. Also it depends on your location as well. California, NY, Miami, etc etc you definitely need to have way more. Now in from Texas literally EVERYTHING is cheaper in Texas why you think so many people move here? Everything from food, gas, and rent is very cheap here. So it all depends on the location and what you are trying to do when you move out

My mother is way too toxic to my mental atp, so I need to go as soon as I can. Also been looking at side hustles to create multiple incomes to help save faster and move out with my best friend. I don’t have a savings goal yet, nor an actual plan but I do want to finally be happy with my own space or ALMOST there by the time my baby is born.

Girl I totally understand what you’re saying and a toxic environment is no place for a pregnant woman. I don’t know if it’s possible for you but if where you live is too expensive, maybe look into moving a little further out to somewhere that is cheaper. You wouldn’t want to be struggling with a baby so if you can find a place for the cost of living it’s cheaper but maybe not too far away from family, that might be more beneficial for you. I wish you the best of luck and I will definitely keep you in my prayers tonight.

what i do is set up an automatic direct transfer with my bank so every time i get my paycheck (which is direct deposit), the amount of money i set to transfer to my savings goes right in and i don’t have to do anything i literally don’t even notice it’s gone cuz i started with a small amount($50-100) and then whenever i’m making extra or not planning to spend as much i just transfer some extra money to my savings and i don’t touch my savings unless i truly NEED it like literally pretend that money doesn’t exist
