Thank you so much! This just happened to me today after an upgrade and has been driving me crazy all day! I already have my horizontal space at a premium, I don't know they they thought that wasting up all that space for virtually no gain would be an "upgrade" (especially as default behavior).

Thanks. LOL. Microsoft Tech Support couldn’t figure out how to fix this. I was literally on with Microsoft for 25 minutes and while they couldn’t fix it. I found this video and fixed the problem in 15 seconds. THANK YOU.

Great video, straight to the point! The fact that Microsoft buried this setting in Options > Advanced > 'Show Apps in Outlook' (which is a very vague way to describe moving a menus around the screen) instead of listing it as an option under the regular 'View' menu tells you they KNEW it was a terrible idea and they are trying to force users to adopt their stupid vision of what they think the interface should be instead of what works best.

thank you for putting this out. this worked for me, with exception that when closed and reopened normally it did appear to actually "restart" outlook for me (i.e. the navigation bar did not move). however, when i kill outlook in the task manger then reopened outlook, it came up as expect (with navigation back where it should be)
