The best way to negotiate is to create a competition amongst multiple dealers. Ask dealer 1 for their best ood price including taxes and fees, ask dealer 2 if they can beat dealer 1. Ask dealer 3 if they can be dealer 2. I've had huge success using this method and saved thousands.

Went to a mazda dealer, walked out cause we were just looking, the dealer calls me a couple days later telling me they have a huge sale, only to offer me the same deal they did when i was there. Then he calls the next day telling the same thing "huge sale" and im like ok, send me a price so i know what the sale is. Never gets back to me only to call me again the following day to say exactly the same thing, and totally ignored everything we talked about the previous day, he said he'll get back to me with a price, but he never did. He just wanted me to go back to the dealership to try and force a car on me. What a joke these people are.

Great video. Having to deal with a dealership and negotiate is something that has been putting me off from even considering getting a new vehicle. This helps build some confidence on what I should be doing and the steps I should be following. It would be awesome if you could expand a bit in a separate video on the different warranties offered by dealerships and when it may be worth it or when it seems more of a scam/waste of money.

Can you negotiate extended warranty (Toyota hybrid Rav) and add on like hood deflector? And is it possible to negotiate dealer price on RAV4 hybrid when wait list is still crazy long?
@carhelpcorner16 күн бұрын
@@susanmeredith4957 Yes you can negotiate most dealer products and the extended warranty. Around 20% off is realistic. As for vehicles with long waiting periods like the RAV4 Hybrid, the most you can usually negotiate is the dealer fees. Make sure you are only paying the mandatory fees and nothing else. No dealer junk fees or add-ons.

Is there any negotiation power if you can pay cash for a new car?
@BrewReviewАй бұрын
Of course, you're not talking to them about how you're paying until the 11th hour anyway. Those two conversations should be completely separate. Negotiate the total price of the car out the door, THEN slap them with the "I'm a cash buyer, no financing needed, sorry" statement AT the time when you are asked about it in the office once you get that price in writing.
@brianhoffman500Ай бұрын
@BrewReview Thank you. It sounds like you can't necessarily negotiate a lower price if you are paying cash. If I understand correctly, letting them know up front you are paying cash might adversely impact the deal.
@MysticYT925Ай бұрын
@@brianhoffman500exactly, because lots of salespeople end up making less money when you pay cash so they’re gonna be less willing to give you a better deal.

Excellent video!The best deal I obtained so far on the 2025 Camry LE AWD includes 10k down in cash 4.99 interest rate 72 month term (I'll probably pay it off earlier) I had them discount msrp and add in the cold weather package (heated seats and wrapped heated steering wheel and more) and their convenience package. They are promising me my payment will be $520 a month including all fees, taxes, interest. Does that sound like a good deal, fair or bad?
@edgardls9515 күн бұрын
Ive never been a Cash Down guy. Would rather put that 10k into an account that will earn interest and bite the bullet on a slightly higher monthly payment. I walked into BMW in 2021 and got a '21 SUV for only $880/72 months no down payment
@CatsAreNiceMeow15 күн бұрын
@ Good point but I’m thinking I’ll be cutting out lots of loan interest and own the car sooner. But you gave me something to think about. Do you think my price is fair? I found all dealerships to lie.
@edgardls9515 күн бұрын
@CatsAreNiceMeow price seems a little high to me but it depends what options the car has. A good way to see is multiply the months by monthly payment and then add the 10k. Another thing to try is, find the same car at a dealership you haven't been to and tell them you need the car at $520 a month for 72 months with 0 down. It might get a little uncomfortable, but you will have all the leverage. Once negotiations start going back and forth and you have them around the $520/72 @4.99%. You can tell them something along the lines " what if I put down $X,000, would you be able to get me under $500/72months?" Remember they need to get cars off the lot, so it would be in there best interest to work with you.

Hey Shari, I see all both Toyota and BMW have now added dealership fee to their websites. They must have watched this video! Does it make it legal ?
@carhelpcornerАй бұрын
Regardless of what manufacturers do on their own websites, dealers are still required to advertise an all-in price in their own advertising/listings. If a dealer tries to add any charges that are not already included in their advertised price, it is illegal. Toyota and others are probably doing that to be in alignment with what their dealers are doing anyways.

Gross of cars range from $900 to 3,500. What negotiation are you expecting? To discount you for $500 to $1,000? When you’re buying a small sedan, the gross isn’t even $1,500. Ask for $500 off so the sales person can offer food for his family by earning 25% of the remaining gross. If the vehicle is a big SUV, then ask for $1,000 to $2k off or equivalent amount of accessories or freebies, so that again the sales guy can bring food to his family. I know most of the dealerships nowadays are screwing their sales people. Selling cars here in Canada isn’t good anymore compared to 10-20 years ago… Be reasonable also in buying cars.
