Strangely enough, since watching you videos over the last week or so I decided to change up my training and have been hitting workouts similare to this. I hadn't bothered with the assualt bike or rower for quite some time. Combining them with Olympic lifts, and other movements was enjoyable. It reminded me of Crossfit workouts from days gone by 👍

I've been super setting the air runner with my pull-up and dip supersets.. a super-super set? :P So far I've just been walking vigorously on the air runner as a way of getting active recovery between my strength work rather than passive recovery just standing around for a few minutes (which I know is also valuable, but isn't very engaging). I think it might be time to start actually running rather than walking. Thanks for the consistently great content, Marcus!

One step at a time. I like that you’ve incorporated the active rest periods. That’s great.

Awesome 👏 video Marcus, I love the way you combine weight lifting with conditioning, sometime we are too married to one type of training. The more a workout the more I realize that there is tons of value on combining styles and practice different movements in different planes, which gives me the opportunity to be well rounded with my training and strong in different range of motions. I’m starting to lean more towards practicing this style of yours FUNCTIONAL BODYBUILDING which looks like a training approach that we could follow year round and maybe interrupt that with some raw strength periods focus on compound movements and maybe a period to get proficient in Kettlebells movements. Which of your programs do you recommend for somebody like me that has been training 3-4 times per week for 1yr consistently, I have been more focused on traditional compound lifting (B.Squat, B. press, Deadlift, Rows, OH press) MY goal is body recomp.

I would absolutely recommend that you try out my Persist PUMP program. It will be the slight deviation from your current style of training towards FBB it sounds like.

@@marcusfilly thanks for the advice. I’ll have a look in your website. I’m finishing the last phase of my current program by end of Aug. Then will go for a 4week holidays period. I’ll give it a try when I get back. Cheers!

Love the content. What is metabolic conditioning?
@marcusfilly2 жыл бұрын
It’s a term that has been used in and around the CrossFit community to describe training your energy systems. Basically when you lift and breath all in the same workout. We are training our metabolic system. It’s not a perfect term but gets at a general category of workouts.

Crossfit is embarrass by definition, dude.

Perhaps. But there are ways that we can level up the way we combine cardio and strength. That’s all I’m trying to show
