Drove on some truly horrendous roads, crashed a Vietnamese wedding, nearly got human trafficked in a dank hotel room in Hanoi, and missed my flight to Japan. What the f-ck. This is one of my favorite videos I've ever made and I'm fortunate to have you guys join me for the adventure. Love you guys. See you soon

How come? Sex trafficking is a real thing and it happens a lot, aswell as prostitution and exploitation, moreover in places like Vietnam or Thailand where the tourism sometimes involves such things. Don't get me wrong I loved the video, and I also think of it as a crazy experience, however, I think most people would believe everything that happened. Couldn't it be?

A tip: don't walk into a random hotel lobby or spa looking building called a "nhà nghỉ", it's most likely a brothel. Instead, find a bigger more official looking building called a "khách sạn", which is usually an actual hotel. The men in the video were prostitutes, and it was an uncomfortable situation but it's not their fault that this guy walked into the wrong place.

The ending just reminded me so much of Michael Palin's around the world in 80 days. Before the pandemic, I went on a 3-weeks motorbike route from Saigon to Hanoi with my girlfriend, detoured over to Danang for a bit. We never got lucky enough to randomly crash a wedding, but I met some of the most welcoming and friendly people on this route. We had some random person paid for our lunch without us knowing when he left. We were so confused when we tried to pay and the owner wouldn't accept the money. Neither us nor the owner speak each other's language, but Google Translate came to the rescue. Incredibly kind people, and the scenery was beautiful.

Unfortunately human trafficking happens in plain sight in all corners of the globe. I’ve seen it myself in rural America. It’s so scary when you see it out in the open like that for the first time. To feel so objectified and disgusted with humanity. I’m sorry that there are so many creeps out there.

Not so fun fact is that a majority of victims aren't snatched off the street but are rather sold by people close to them, often parents or direct friends of the family. Taken isn't based on a true story, but that's the romantic version used for propaganda like Sound of Freedom
