My product is a combination of 2 companies that I had custom make 2 separate items, which I then glue together. Basically merging the kitchen world with the office world. Hi, Etsy needs a bank to deposit the money you make from your account and for you to pay them if you own them any fees. I recommend getting a business checking account. YOU DO NOT WANT TO USE YOUR PERSONAL ACCOUNT. Keep your Etsy (business) finances separate from your personal finances. This video talks about the best bank accounts for small businesses. Etsy does have an app that will allow you to manage your shop via your phone. However, I recommend doing the shop setup on a Laptop or pc. You may be able to do the setup on your phone but I have not tried it so I'm not sure if you will run into an issue during the setup process.

Etsy will charge you a listing fee each time you post a new listing. After someone buys an item from you that listing has to be reposted and Etsy will charge you another 20 cents listing fee. Because of this you have to say if you want Etsy to "Automatically" repost your listing and charge you the fee. Or if you want to "Manually" report your listing after someone makes a purchase. Nothing is scam proof but Etsy has put measures in place so you know when it is them contacting you via Etsy messages. They use a 3rd party service to add your banking information. I also recommend using a business bank account to connect to your shop, not your personal account.

Just a question, I’ve had my first sale, and I’ve heard about Etsy putting shops into vacation mode after getting first sale to verify ID, holiday mode is off for me, and I’m still getting views, I also had to verify ID when setting up the shop which I think came with a newer update, so do they still have to check ID after first sale? Because I am not getting as many visits as before but it may just be coincidence.

Hi, I'm really not sure. Etsy does strange things. I'm hoping the new validations that they are doing when you set up your shop will stop them from doing all of the strange things like putting a shop in vacation mode after the first sale. @@jasmineeeethecatttt I'm so sorry that my list of recommended business bank accounts does not extend out side of the US. But with that said I can answer you question about why not just open another personal checking account. The accounts are very similar but just have different purposes. Some banks that offer personal checking accounts have rules against you using it for business purposes. There are also benefits like the ability to accept credit card payments, cash management features, and invoicing features that are included with some business bank accounts. Keep in mind that features vary so do your research. Wishing you much success in your business!
