Fantastic advice! I have been operating a sit down ZTR for about 15 years, and recently got a stand-on mower, I first tried mowing the same patterns with my stand on as I did with my sit down ZTR and was really struggling. I took your advice and went back to doing more basic patterns with the stand on and gaining confidence and proficiency, much happier with my new stand on day by day, thank you!

Glad I found this video! I’m starting a part time summer job next week where I’ll be using a zero turn mower and I’ve never mowed grass in my life…I’m a bit intimidated by it but after watching this I think I can handle it.

Want to keep the tires from tearing up the lawn and creating a bare spot? Keep both wheels moving. Never stop and then pivot on one tire. In this yard I would have made 3 laps around the yard. Then cut in stripes. Nice easy turns and not tearing up a yard.

Good video. It brought back memories of teaching my granddaughter how to drive my old Bad Boy Mower. Next time you are teaching Zero Turn you might want to use the best analogy I ever heard for steering or turning a zero turn, "It's like steering a shopping cart" (i.e. one hand eases forward as the other eases back). I tell those who have never driven a zero turn, " if you can steer a shopping cart, you can drive a zero turn ".

I think she did great. Took me a while first time I drove one. It's a process learning the proper zero turn method. I don't own one myself but surely would love one. One day when my money's right I will have one. But short learning course and I think she did great. Maybe let her take over keeping it up maybe every other week just so she keeps improving. Jason, I realize u r paid or endorsed by ex mark. Our city is kind of desperate for aerating in very early spring. I’d love to own a commercial aerator. Ex mark is very spendy. For mowing I use exmark. Any brands u suffers for 1-2 months a year of aerating. Thx!!!

You did not tell her how to back up by pulling back on the bars. I love my Zero Turn mower. Also, if the grass was taller it would be easier to tell where you had cut. Your wife is beautiful.
