Envy is one of those things i struggled with early on in life. the cure? allow room in your heart to show gratitude for what you have and where you are in life right now. Show gratitude to yourself for what you have accomplished in the past to get you where you are now, no matter how big or small the feat. All we could ever need or desire is within us.

I feel envy for the most stupid things, there is this guy where he has a decent family, a normal escolar education, a stable mind for most of the times. He has a big number of friends that he can talk to with intimacy. He makes the funniest puns at the right moments, and people laugh. While me? I have is a problematic family, a mixture of education through the years I've gone through a lot of schools in different countries, thanks to the family problems I just feel like crying and moping for hours for the tiniest things and crying of happiness just for listening to a single song. Now, I do have friends, but friends that I can't talk with for nothing, I can't even put in a normal conversation. I do a pun from time to time and people are tired of me, maybe because they are tired of me or because my puns are bad. But still, I've done something similar to test the difference, and it's bullsh*t. I talk with him, and I love doing so, but there are days where I just can't stand myself. I hope this doesn't sound like a cry for help, I just felt like writing to see if there's someone with a similar situation.

I hate when things are not equal for others, I swear from the bottom of my heart that unjustice is the worst thing for me. I hate others getting stuff for free or getting things the easier way just because they are they. This is not fair in any way, shape or form. I didn't ask to be born in a sh*tty family, I didn't ask to have to change schools between countries. I didn't ask to leave my friends behind, I didn't ask to be awkward at every f*cking conversation just because of family issues. I didn't ask for this at all. I swear, I just feel like giving up at most times, because this is just so unfair. And when people don't know your situation because you feel like you're just annoying others, then everything gets worse for your side. Because they think you're perfectly ok with everything, but deep down, god. You're just so frustrated with everything and you get hurt for almost everything. People judge you for your "quirks" because you aren't normal or you don't know how to properly socially behave. Then you get even more frustrated, because you don't seem to be bonding with anyone, and everyone else is just best friends. What can I do about this? F*ck I have no idea. I hate this, I swear, I feel like disappearing into a forest and living by myself, or just dying somewhere, so I will be missing and nobody will find me.

Envy ruined my life. My work was stolen from me, and someone else succeeded on the work I did and lived a life I could only dream of based on that. It’s taken so long for me to come to terms with it because I felt justified in my envy. But at the end of the day, I was really just beating myself up and feeding myself poison. My life was bought down so hard because of that, even if I felt I was right, and it had no effect on the other person. Once I realized they are now out of my life and there’s nothing either one of us can do to influence each other’s lives going forward, I just had to accept it. Now I’m married living a happy life and enjoying life for what it is. I don’t worry about that other stuff anymore. And not only do I have a zest for life I haven’t felt in years, but I also hate myself a lot less. In fact, I love myself. And I love that I went thru what I did. I have a strength others might not have yet. And for that, some of you might even be envious!

Compassion and gratitude! I’m praying that I can work through this. I have a good person/friend in my life that I really admire and have feelings for. It’s painful seeing what appears to be how happy he is being married, his step-daughter and son-in-law… it’s like he’s found his dream family. But as he and others have mentioned, it’s an inner reflection of me. 🙏🏽

I think it's extremely wrong to degrade someone as a loser when you honestly don't know what they are feeling in their lives right now, and it's not very courageous to do so, because people honestly don't realise that their words have a very huge impact on people who deal with mental illness daily. I don't think causing people to feel envy towards others is right, and it makes me sick, because it's also a form of bullying. If someone who looks the least fortunate, encourage them, don't degrade them, because you could actually be responsible for their life if they commit suicide!

Why I can’t I be like my brother. My envy makes me feel extremely depressed and unmotivated.
