Your videos are very easy to follow and I love that you don’t have any crazy supplies or a fancy setup. Not that that is a bad thing, but it’s refreshing to see someone using similar supplies as me in a casual setup. I’ve only just started my watercolor journey so this is very encouraging!

I'm impressed. I've seen probably 100 or more galaxy paintings and painted a couple dozen of my own ... and the way you teach how you've created your galaxies is not only easy to follow, but produces great results. I especially your 'star work' on the second painting in your portfolio ... those particular stars seem to have been very specifically placed and the effect is stunning, in my opinion - finally a new approach just when I need a creative diversion from a huge W.I.P.. ...you KNOW I'm off to your channel to see if that painting has a tutorial ... who knows, maybe my scientist hunny will let me change out that first horrible, acrylic galaxy I did, which he insists hang over our bed! ( this is of course after he explained it isn't a real existing galaxy ... I said 'prove it' , He can't - despite teaching astronomy and exoplanet sciences and it isn't often this artist wins a science debate with the in-house scientist. LoL) Have a great day & a better New Year.

Hey there, Thank you so much for uploading this video! I had a school project in which I had to paint anything ( literally anything ) on a big piece of chart paper.. And I was wondering what to draw because it was so big,.. I guess drawing a galaxy will be easy and less-time consuming and it will look nice too.. I am not sure whether it will turn out good on chart paper or not but I will give it a try . ..

Just starting my watercolor journey and I am fascinated by the galaxies! You have the exact same paper I have...but my problem when I went to play around, is that even when taped down, it would really buckle alot and cause pools. I really didnt think I was using a TON of water, and now that I have seen your tutorial, I see that you did use a ton of water! How are you avoiding the buckling/bubbling of the paper?
@AmayaJade6 жыл бұрын
TheMeanDM Even when the paper is taped down it will still buckle when wet. It should flatten out almost completely once it dries though. Maybe try using different tape? Let me know if you still need help (:

Hi I was wondering why you prefer acrylic for the stars instead of Gouache. Does it matter? I heard you shouldn't paint over or under watercolor with acrylic. Idk why it would matter I feel like it would be okay... I am wondering before I decide to buy Gouache since I already have a lot of white acrylic...?
@AmayaJade3 жыл бұрын
White acrylic paint is definitely fine to use! Gouache would also work but at this time I didn’t have any. 😊

@AmayaJade5 жыл бұрын
Jungkook You can definitely try it. Use a lot less water and you might want to tape off the edges to try and minimize the warping. (Remove some of the stickiness of the tape before taping it down so the paper doesn’t rip). It’s going to look different than other watercolor galaxies because of the texture of the paper. It’s also going to take longer for the paper to dry completely so wait a little before you add the stars. I’m sure you can make it work (:
