I'm pretty sure that it was magic when you added 1 line of the yellowy shadow mix to make the tree box pop up out of the ground... It amazes me how 1 tiny line can change it completely! It is beautiful. I'll have to try it in my not as controlled style! The amount of patience you have is astounding!

Once again, I thought it would be beyond me. But just by following your clear steps, I was very pleased with the result. So much so, I painted it again, immediately afterwards, as a card for my niece as a new home card. Thank you.

I love your videos! I don't care how you pronounce things or whether you go out of the lines. It is actually encouraging to see that you are human like us and not some goddess of absolute perfection as you appear to be.😊 Keep painting! We love it. I watch you to relax and to inspire myself to paint. This one was very satisfying.

Another beautiful painting, I just adore how you use the tiniest of shadow lines to make things pop! I love how you pronounce Alizarin Crimson, who cares if it is technically correct? I have my own versions of several words which I am sure the purists would cringe at…🤣😂x

I think this is lovely, I'll find my own window somewhere and follow your instructions again. I love the pale nature of it! I have a question, though: cherries grow in clumps, and have LOTS of dark green leaves. What was under the decision to not give the tree leaves?

Purely because this is an illustration and not an accurate study, that’s the joy of creating is you can make the choices you want!

I love your tutorials. I wonder do you listen to your music whilst you're painting or is it added later? It stresses me out to paint with it, it reminds me of an old video game, i always played without the sound. Lol

Hi Harriet! This is your biggest fan from South Carolina USA😊 I don’t want to sound critical, just a question of your process. Is there a reason why you didn’t paint the window before the tree. Would the shadow color used on the panes change the color of the cherry blossoms in that area? I am trying to nail the process in my old brain ;) . As is…step one, etc. Thank you so much! You are a treasure!❤️
@deWintonPaperCo2 жыл бұрын
Hi Brenda, there’s not a huge amount of reason other than my main focus for this piece was looking at the tree. You could definitely paint the window, however everything is very translucent to being with so I wanted to just have the single layer of paint of tree and window rather than two layers
@7409gigi2 жыл бұрын

I really enjoy learning from your tutorials. I am new to trying watercolor and am having fun with it. Mine don’t look anything like yours. I am finding out that different paint companies have different names for the same color? The thing that matters seems to be the number of the paint. I am correct? Are the numbers the same all over for the same color but the name could be different? Is there anywhere that you have the numbers for the paint colors that you use? Thanks so much for your help. I’ll give the cherry tree a try.
@deWintonPaperCo Жыл бұрын
I find the best thing is to focus on colour swatches over colours as they all have slightly different names
