I've been searching the internet for schemes that aren't just the retributor basecoat, and this is perfect. Time to lock myself in my room for a few weeks, and work through my Custodes force

You can speed paint ancient gold by dry brushing retributor armor over black. It tones the yellow way down.

Which citadel colours get Close to this Scheme? Can't find something on the Internet

Probably something like runelord brass basecoat and screaming bell for the mid tones and then canoptek alloy for the highlight. The turquoise can really be any turquoise paint.

Never used Scale 75 paints, but I've heard they need thinned considerably more than GW paints, is that true? Also can they be thinned with lahmian medium?

It seems like they have stopped selling their paints in the US. Not sure what's going on with them, but I'm wondering if their US distributor is having issues or something? As far as alternatives, I'll start searching for some, but if anyone else has some suggestions I'd love to hear them!

Loved the video! Got my combat patrol box today and want to paint them this scheme. I was just wondering if you (or anyone in the comments) know of the comparable colors used in this scheme from vallejo? I know a lot of people swear by vallejo and my brother recommended I get them so I'd like to take his advice. Again, great video!

I can try to get you a list tomorrow! I must say though that scale 75 metallics are amazing and I'd highly recommend checking them out!
@howelx Жыл бұрын
@@AmnioticlyTanked Thanks! I did do a little research on them and some people said they can be a bit fussy when you first start using them because of the consistency and viscosity and that kind of intimidates me as a brand new painter but they still do look great!
@AmnioticlyTanked Жыл бұрын
@@howelx so the normal scale 75 paints are a right pain to use* and 100% not beginner friendly. Their metallics though are a whole different story. They're super smooth and not chunky like others, but their coverage is fantastic as well. For vallejo game color though, Id use tinny tin bright bronze and their verdigris effect instead of turquoise. They don't have anything quite like peridot alchemy though... so maybe mixing some of their brightest silver with bright bronze? *they are my go to paint now, but it took me 6 months to get used to them...

how do you use Scale 75 paint as a base coat? do you put a lot? do you dilute it? Because the only time I applied it was too thin on the armor... do you recommend a black primer rather than gold then? 🙏🏼
@AmnioticlyTanked Жыл бұрын
did you try with the metallics or with their normal paints? Asking as I have never really had a problem applying their metallics over a black basecoat, their normal paints on the other hand I would not try to basecoat except though an airbrush. I love 'em but their coverage is not great. Yeah, for doing this scheme though, I would recommend a black primer. I would not dilute the decayed metal and I would use enough to get a good coverage, but not enough to obscure the details.
@Tracke09 Жыл бұрын
@@AmnioticlyTanked yes it was necro gold, but I put a little of water, on the wet palette. I will try again with your color schema. Did you put the decayed on a wet palette or normal ? Just one couch ? Thanks man 🙏🏼 Maybe I use a too small brush … I will try to use a shade brush maybe.

Gold doesn't decay as brass or copper does, it doesn't get green. Instead, it gets dull and more like a brown, because of the dirt.
