The Shermanator gets an engine swap! This 1980 GMC Sierra Grande crew cab sitting on a post-war Madill Yarder chassis built with Sherman M4A2 tank components... now has a 36-speed 'semi-automatic' (dual transmission), a 6v71 Detroit diesel, and a massive winch driven off a hydraulic pump powered by a 4-71T Detroit under the hood.

I cant lie, I miss the days before vinyl, and the signman ruled the towns. Vehicles, store fronts, it was all art, style and personal. Late 80s, I was a kid into BMX and other fun stuff, and a friends dad was a local sign guy, had a two tone van with "Simple Signman" on the side front to back 70s style. It was super cool. His name was Mike also, kind of funny. He used to do all the local stores, vehicles, etc. Its an art that needs to come back to the fore front. Vinyl just isn't the same. Mike, well done sir, pretty cool to follow along in the video!

I know a father and son who are both sign painters. The father started in the early 1940's (he's dead now) and the son is still hand painting today with almost 50 years under his belt. It's amazing to watch him paint. I can't draw anything with a pencil no matter how many times I try, and he does it perfectly the first time, every time with a paint brush. It's certainly is a lost art. You can tell the sign painter in this video is a true professional with decades of experience. Nice job, Mike.
