Once the eyeball was 3/4 done it completely changed the whole paintjob. The paintjob on the body felt almost incomplete until the eye was painted. Amazing job.... this might be my favorite Beholder paintjob yet..... subbed.

Since this mini is next to be painted, I thought I should watch your video. Amazing job, as always! I have most of those colours, minus the Citadel ones (but, my Army Painter and Vallejo ones should suffice). All the various colour layers, glazing, and highlights really look super gross/awesome. I think I have a few skeletal bits and discarded weapons for the base. I love those extra details. They really set it apart. Thanks again, Leif.

Looks amazing! Curious to know what you mean by "glaze" vs "wash"? Specifically, early on when you start applying some red glaze to the skin. I have the citadel washes, and they also make another specific glaze, but it looked like you didn't use either of these? Thanks!
@DevsDice4 жыл бұрын
When I speak about "glaze" I essentially mean thinning out your paints, drying out most of the water and then painting. Washes for me can be used as a glaze, they have most of the characteristics but they also flow more and when I glaze I generally want the paint to not "move around". Might have to do a video on this, does it make sense? 😊
@BiggestJon894 жыл бұрын
@@DevsDice That does make sense, thank you! I will definitely have to give that a try on my next model. When I attempted to follow your example of using the red glaze on the body it seemed to look rather odd but that was because I was using a wash, and I'm sure if I used the glaze as you mentioned I would have had different results. Thanks again for your time! But I certainly wouldn't complain about a dedicated up-close video showing the difference between the two techniques 🙂
