Another excellent Gwen video, useful to understand that Gwen’s skill level is off the charts, he doesn’t need a parawing, wing or paddle to pump himself onto foil

Thanks for making this video Gwen! Definitely a cool tool to learn to downwind and get lots of reps. Excited to see what the industry does in reaction to the parawing. Probably even better designs coming. I think one of the mistakes I see from people learning this is that they try to pump the parawing like a LEI wing, and half the time it stalls in that dynamic movement. This might be the perfect tool to focus only on leg/foil pump while holding the parawing steady for a little extra assistance. So cool!

Great video Gwen! Interesting that you took off on what would be toe side. It seems less severe than doing that with a wing, but if you turn off the wind and leg pump it’s more like a paddle up angle.

Great video! Thanks for sharing. I'm thinking of trying a parawing with my pumpfoil from the dock, instead of using a wing-which is currently my favorite foiling setup.

Great video Glen! Only thing I would add is that the harness seems to help going upwind, especially when overpowered. Using two hands on the bar also helps.

The parawing goes upwind very well. The angle of attack of the wing is controlled with the hand position on the bar. Hand forward and it's flying off the front lines...hand pressure on your little finger and you will feel it start to stall and drop back. Much more of a kite feel than a wing.

I would use a leash for safety ,if you lose it what you gonna do ? Paddle kilometers?For clarity I live in New Zealand and wind can be gusty or just plain drop where I live.Looks super fun though but expensive atm.

Do you think you need a mid-length board or a regular wingfoil board would be ok to start foiling with the parawing. I am 70kg and i have a 70 liter fone rocket S. thanks
@DamienLeroyYouTube4 ай бұрын
A wing board would work for sure, you will just need a bigger parawing to get some extra power at take off

Do you think i could use a parawing? My right shoulder is partly paralized and cant hold up a normal wing for long. Also what style could be best downwind with harnas? Live near famous kitespot in Holland and Dahab in Egypt in winter@@DamienLeroyKZbin

How much pull is there? I can't imagine trying to hold onto my wing with just one hand. If the parawing has similar that just seems like a lot of force to hold onto.

Hi, what is the right size compared to a wing, if one is not pumping as perfect as you are? Let’s say …for a bad pumper…but experienced wingfoiler with a mid length or downwindboard. Thanks from Germany!

About the same size as a wing I would say

@@DamienLeroyKZbindoes it pull as hard as a 5m wing? Looks like you can hold it in front of you more than overhead which I think would be better for me. Looks like i will be learning paddlefoiling then progressing to this, thanks.

I'm having trouble understanding the physics of how this can possibly go upwind. And in the video, Gwen it looked more like you were at a beam reach than a close haul. How close to the wind are you actually gonna be able to get with that?
@DamienLeroyYouTube4 ай бұрын
I was surprised how well it goes up wind actually, it’s the same principle as a kite really
